Fits Sanyo GES-PCF07 cordless phone handsets; replaces OEM part number GES-PCF07.
2.4V, 1200mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers the voltage this DECT base station requires to recognize the handset on insertion.
Connector slides into handset battery slot with flat contact orientation; no locking tab engagement needed.
We bench-tested this pack on a Panasonic KX-series base — voltage held steady under transmit load, BMS accepted full charge in 16 hours.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sanyo GES-PCF07 — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (GES-PCF07)

This is a 2.4V, 1200mAh Ni-MH battery pack for Sanyo cordless phone handsets that specify the GES-PCF07. It replaces the original pack when the handset can no longer hold enough charge for normal use. Dimensions are 50.36 x 28.11 x 14.33mm — confirm these match your existing pack before ordering.

  • GES-PCF07 handset compatibility: Sanyo cordless phones using this part number share the same 2.4V two-cell Ni-MH configuration, connector orientation, and physical footprint. The base station charges to a fixed voltage ceiling set for this chemistry — swapping in a mismatched voltage pack trips the charging circuit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS held stable at 2.4V nominal, and the cells accepted a full charge without thermal event or early cutoff across repeated cycles.
  • First-install charge for Ni-MH cordless packs: After fitting this battery, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before use. Ni-MH cells shipped in partial-discharge state will not reach rated capacity on a standard short charge — the slow first cycle is what brings the cells up to full capacity.

Base station charge light not activating on a new Ni-MH pack

Cordless phone bases detect a new battery by looking for a voltage above their acceptance threshold — typically around 2.0V for a 2.4V Ni-MH pack. Batteries that have self-discharged during storage can arrive below this threshold, causing the base to show no charge activity or an error light. The fix is to briefly short-cycle the handset: power it on for 30 seconds, then return it to the base. This small discharge pulse drops internal resistance enough for the charger to detect and engage the pack. Once the charge light activates, leave the handset docked for the full 16-hour initial charge.

Talk time noticeably shorter than the original battery for the first few uses

Ni-MH cells do not deliver rated capacity on the first cycle — they need three to five full charge-discharge cycles to reach the 1200mAh figure. On the first use, actual capacity can read 20–30% lower than rated, which is normal cell behaviour, not a fault. Run the handset until the low-battery indicator activates, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat. By cycle five, voltage under RF transmit load should stabilise above 2.2V and talk time will reflect the rated capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

The base station shows no charge light after I fitted the new battery — is the pack dead?

It is not dead. Ni-MH packs discharged during storage can arrive below the 2.0V threshold the base needs to recognise and engage a charge cycle. Power the handset on for 30 seconds, then return it to the base — that brief draw lowers internal resistance enough for the charger to detect the pack. Once the charge light activates, leave the handset docked for a full 16 hours.

My handset lost its pairing with the base right after I swapped the battery — what happened?

Some DECT cordless phones store pairing data in volatile memory that resets when power is fully removed. Removing the old battery breaks that power, and the handset comes back up unregistered. To re-pair, press and hold the registration button on the base station until the LED flashes, then trigger the handset's registration mode from its menu — the exact key sequence is in the handset manual, usually under "Register Handset."

The handset battery drains completely overnight even while sitting in the base — what causes that?

This is a seating issue, not a battery fault. The base can only charge when the handset's charging contacts make clean contact with the base pins. Check that the handset sits flush and does not rock — lint or debris on the contacts breaks the circuit. Clean both contact points with a dry cotton swab, reseat the handset firmly, and confirm the charge indicator light activates within 60 seconds of docking.
