Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TomTom One / One Europe Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (F650010252)
This 3.7V, 800mAh Li-ion cell replaces the internal battery in the TomTom One, One Europe, One Regional, Rider, and over 22 additional TomTom navigator variants. It fits the compact 44.30 × 34.10 × 5.00mm battery bay and uses OEM part numbers F650010252 and F709070710. Install it when the original cell no longer holds enough charge to power the device through a full navigation session without a USB cable.
- TomTom One platform fit: The One, One Europe, and One Regional all share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — which is why a single cell covers the full range. The Rider variant uses the same cell inside a ruggedised housing but draws from the identical 3.7V rail.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a TomTom One unit with active GPS lock and display at full brightness. The BMS held a stable discharge curve down to the 3.0V cutoff with no premature trips or false low-battery flags during the run.
- Post-swap cold-start note: After fitting this battery, power the unit on outdoors with a clear sky view before your first drive. Full power removal resets the GPS receiver's almanac data, so the first satellite fix can take 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts drop back under a minute once the almanac is rebuilt.
GPS accuracy dropping at low battery on TomTom One
When the TomTom One's battery voltage falls below roughly 3.5V, the unit reduces power to the GPS receiver module to extend remaining uptime. This cuts receiver sensitivity, which weakens satellite signal acquisition — particularly in urban canyons or under tree cover where signal is already marginal. The result is position jumps, missed turns, or the map freezing briefly mid-route. Replacing the cell restores full receiver voltage and fixes the accuracy drop without any setting changes.
TomTom One shutting off without warning before the battery indicator hits empty
The battery percentage indicator on the TomTom One is calibrated against the original cell's discharge curve. An aged or previously discharged cell has a steeper voltage drop than the firmware expects, so the unit hits its hardware cutoff threshold — around 3.0V — while the screen still shows 20–30% remaining. The warning never triggers because the voltage collapse is faster than the indicator's update cycle. Fitting a fresh cell re-aligns the discharge curve with the firmware's calibration, so the visual indicator and the actual cutoff point match again.

Frequently Asked Questions
My TomTom One lost all my saved routes and favourites after I swapped the battery — is that normal?
Yes, and it happens because the TomTom One stores saved routes and points of interest in battery-backed RAM. When you remove the old cell, that RAM loses power and clears. The map data on the internal flash stays intact, but anything held in volatile memory — recent destinations, saved favourites — is gone. Re-enter your key locations after the swap and they will persist through future battery swaps as long as power is not fully interrupted again.
My TomTom One is taking 8 minutes to get a GPS fix after I replaced the battery — something wrong with the new cell?
Nothing is wrong with the battery. Full power removal wipes the GPS receiver's stored almanac and ephemeris data — the satellite position tables it uses for a fast lock. Without that data, the receiver has to download fresh tables from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes on first use outdoors. Subsequent power cycles use the rebuilt almanac and lock in under a minute. Leave the device stationary with a clear sky view for that first fix and it will not repeat.
My TomTom One drains noticeably faster when I'm actively navigating than when I leave it sitting on the dash — is the new battery defective?
It is not defective — active navigation is the highest-draw state the device runs in. The GPS receiver, processor, and display backlight all run simultaneously at full load, which pulls significantly more current than standby. The 800mAh cell in this unit is the correct OEM-spec capacity, so if drain still feels excessive, lower screen brightness to 50% — that alone cuts display draw by roughly a third and is the single most effective adjustment on this platform.
