Fits Wolf Garten Power 37 and Power 40 models, replacing OEM part numbers 4949066, 4937065, and PACK 1.
36.5V, 6000mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 219Wh — enough capacity for standard residential lot cuts on a single charge.
Connector slides straight into the Power 37 battery slot with positive terminals aligned; locking tab seats flush against the mower housing.
We bench-tested this cell under blade load and confirmed the BMS responds cleanly to motor inrush current without nuisance cutoff on thick grass.
Before first use after winter storage, bring the pack indoors overnight if garage temperatures dropped below 10C — cold cells have higher internal resistance and can trip the BMS when the blade motor draws peak current on startup.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Wolf Garten Power 37 / Power 40 — 36.5V Li-ion Replacement Battery (4949066)

This is a 36.5V, 6000mAh (219Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for the Wolf Garten Power 37, Power 40, Hybrid Power 37, and Hybrid Power 40 cordless lawn mowers. It slots into the same battery bay and uses the same connector as the original Wolf Garten pack. Capacity figures come from the product data — not third-party claims.

  • Power 37, Power 40, and Hybrid variants: All four models run the same 36.5V battery rail and share the same physical housing and BMS handshake. One battery covers the full range — no adapter or modification required.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through repeated blade-motor start cycles and monitored the BMS response to inrush current. The protection circuit held stable across simulated thick-grass load spikes without nuisance tripping.
  • Seasonal storage preparation: Before putting the mower away for winter, run the pack to around 50% charge — not flat. Li-ion cells left at near-zero voltage over several months can drop below the BMS acceptance threshold, and the charger will reject the pack come spring.

BMS cutoff under thick-grass or wet-grass blade load

The blade motor on the Power 37 draws a sharp inrush current every time it bites into dense or wet grass. If the pack's state of charge is already low, the BMS reads that current spike as an unsafe discharge rate and cuts the output. This is a protection event, not a battery fault. Let the mower sit for 30 seconds, then restart — the BMS resets once the current demand drops. If it trips repeatedly, charge the pack before the next run rather than starting on a partial charge.

Charger refusing to accept the pack after winter storage

Li-ion cells that self-discharge below roughly 2.5V per cell over a long storage period will be rejected by the Wolf Garten charger — the charger sees a voltage too low to safely initiate a charge cycle. Some chargers have a recovery or "wake-up" mode that trickle-charges the pack back above the acceptance threshold. If yours does not, a short connection to a compatible Li-ion charger at its lowest current setting for 10–15 minutes can bring cell voltage back above 3.0V per cell, after which the original charger will accept it normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Wolf Garten Power 37 cuts out halfway through a row, then starts again after a short wait — what's happening?

This is thermal protection activating in the BMS. The blade motor generates sustained heat under continuous load, and once the pack reaches its temperature threshold the BMS shuts output until the cells cool. It is not a fault — it is the pack protecting itself. Allow a 5-minute cooldown before restarting, and avoid back-to-back full runs on hot days without a rest between passes.

The mower felt noticeably weaker on the first spring cut after the battery sat in the garage all winter — is the pack already failing?

Probably not. Li-ion cells held at low temperature over winter have elevated internal resistance, which causes a temporary voltage sag under the blade motor's load. Capacity and power output typically recover after 3–5 full charge and discharge cycles as the cells condition. If performance has not improved after five cycles, check resting voltage after a full charge — it should read at or above 36.5V.

The new pack feels warmer than my old battery did during the first few uses — should I be concerned?

New cells run slightly warmer for the first 4–5 cycles while the internal chemistry stabilises. We measured surface temperature on the bench across the first five discharge cycles and saw a gradual reduction as the cells settled. As long as the pack is not too hot to touch comfortably and the mower is not cutting out, this is normal conditioning behaviour. If the pack remains unusually hot after five full cycles, check that the battery bay vents on the mower are clear of grass clippings.
