Fits Gardena 19921-24, 19922-20, 19923-20, and 19925-24 cordless lawn mowers.
18.5V 3400mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full motor torque on thick grass without voltage sag.
Slides into the battery slot with side-lock tab engagement — connector orients automatically on insert.
Bench testing showed clean BMS acceptance on first charge cycle with no thermal spike.
Before first spring use, bring the battery indoors overnight if outdoor temps are below 10°C — cold Li-ion raises blade motor inrush current and can trip the BMS protection circuit.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Gardena 19921-24 / 19922-20 Series — 18.5V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is an 18.5V 3400mAh (62.9Wh) Li-ion battery for Gardena cordless lawn mowers including the 19921-24, 19922-20, 19923-20, and 19925-24. It fits the full mower series sharing this 18.5V platform. The connector and BMS handshake match the original Gardena pack geometry exactly.

  • 19921-24 / 19922-20 series fit: These mower models run the same 18.5V battery rail with identical connector pinout and BMS communication protocol. Swapping the pack requires no adapter or tool modification — the same charge management circuit handles cell balancing across the series.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge-discharge cycles on the 18.5V mower platform. The BMS handled blade-motor inrush current without tripping, and cell balancing completed normally at end of charge.
  • Seasonal storage tip: Before the first mow of the season, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells develop higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS on a cold pack before the mower ever cuts a blade of grass.

BMS cutoff on thick-grass and wet-grass blade load

When grass is wet or overgrown, the blade motor draws significantly more current at startup than under normal cutting conditions. If this spike exceeds the BMS overcurrent threshold, the pack shuts down mid-row as a protection response — not a battery fault. Let the mower sit for two minutes to allow the BMS to reset. Cutting in overlapping passes through heavy growth keeps motor draw below the trip threshold and prevents repeat cutoffs.

Charger not accepting the pack after winter storage

Li-ion cells left uncharged over winter can drop below the minimum acceptance voltage the charger checks before starting a charge cycle. A pack reading below roughly 14–15V will be refused by standard chargers as a safety measure. Some Gardena chargers include a recovery or "wake-up" mode — hold the pack on the charger for 30 minutes and check whether the fault light clears. If the cells have dropped below 10V total, the pack cannot be safely recovered and needs replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Gardena mower cuts out halfway through a row, then starts again after a minute — what's causing that?

That's thermal protection triggering, not a faulty battery. The blade motor heats the pack during sustained heavy cutting, and the BMS shuts down current flow to protect the cells. Allow a 5-minute cooldown with the mower stationary before restarting. If it happens frequently, check that the blade is sharp — a dull blade increases motor load and heat buildup on every pass.

The charger was fine before winter but now just flashes a fault light with this new pack — is it the charger or the battery?

The charger is likely reading the pack voltage as too low to begin a charge cycle after winter self-discharge. This is a battery voltage issue, not a charger fault. Leave the pack seated on the charger for up to 30 minutes — many Gardena chargers will attempt a slow recovery charge before switching to the fault state permanently. If the light stays red after 30 minutes, check the pack terminal voltage with a multimeter; anything below 12V means the cells have discharged past safe recovery.

The battery feels noticeably warmer after the first few charges than my old one did — is something wrong?

New cells run slightly warmer during the first 3–5 charge-discharge cycles while the chemistry stabilises — this is normal cell conditioning, not a defect. The heat should reduce after those initial cycles. If the pack stays hot to the touch more than 30 minutes after the charger light shows complete, remove it from the charger and let it cool on a hard, non-flammable surface. A pack that remains hot at rest warrants closer inspection before reuse.
