Fits Wolf Garten Power 37, Power 40, Hybrid Power 37, and Hybrid Power 40 mowers; replaces OEM part numbers 4949066, 4937065, 4919096, and LI-ION POWER Pack 2.
36.5V and 4000mAh capacity deliver full blade torque on this mower without voltage sag during thick grass or wet cutting conditions.
Slide-lock connector seats vertically into the mower's battery slot with a single-stage retention tab; no force required on insertion.
We bench-tested this cell on a Power 37 load simulator and confirmed the BMS accepts full discharge cycles without early cutoff or thermal throttle.
Before first use after winter storage, bring the pack indoors overnight if garage temperature is below 10°C — cold cells trigger blade motor inrush cutoff on this mower's BMS.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Wolf Garten Power 37 / Power 40 Series — 36.5V Li-ion Replacement Battery (4949066)

This is a 36.5V, 4000mAh (146Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Wolf Garten Power 37, Power 40, Hybrid Power 37, and Hybrid Power 40 cordless lawn mowers. It replaces OEM part numbers 4949066, 4937065, and 4919096, as well as the LI-ION Power Pack 2 specification. When the original pack loses capacity or stops holding charge, this unit restores the mower to full operation without replacing the machine.

  • Power 37, Power 40, Hybrid 37, Hybrid 40 compatibility: All four models share the same 36.5V battery rail, connector format, and BMS handshake protocol. A single pack covers the full platform — no adapter or firmware change needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full discharge-recharge cycles on a Power 37 deck. The BMS held stable across standard cutting loads and responded correctly to both low-cell and over-temperature cutoff conditions.
  • Cold-weather start tip: Before the first mow of the season, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS on a cold pack before cutting even begins.

BMS cutoff on thick-grass and wet-grass blade load

The Power 37 blade motor draws a sharp inrush current every time it bites into dense or wet grass. If that spike exceeds the BMS threshold — which drops lower on a warm or partially discharged pack — the battery cuts out to protect the cells. This is not a fault with the pack; it is the protection circuit doing its job. Mowing in overlapping passes at reduced width reduces peak draw and keeps the BMS from tripping mid-row.

Charger shows fault light after mower sat unused all winter

Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly over months of garage storage. If the pack drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, most chargers refuse to begin a charge cycle and show a fault or red indicator light. To recover the pack, leave it connected to the charger for 20–30 minutes without unplugging — some chargers trickle-charge at a lower current until the cell voltage climbs back above the acceptance threshold. If the charger still shows a fault after 30 minutes, the cells have likely dropped below recoverable voltage and the pack needs replacing.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Wolf Garten Power 37 cuts out halfway across the lawn then starts again after a minute — what's happening?

This is thermal protection activating. When the pack's internal temperature hits the BMS upper limit — most commonly after sustained cutting in thick or wet grass — the battery disconnects to prevent cell damage, then reconnects once it cools. Allow a 5-minute rest with the battery removed from the mower so heat can dissipate from both the pack and the motor bay. If cut-outs become more frequent over a season, the cells are aging and holding less charge per cycle, which increases heat per unit of work done.

The new battery runs noticeably warmer than the old one did for the first few mows — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Fresh Li-ion cells run slightly warmer than a broken-in pack during the first 3–5 charge-discharge cycles while the electrodes condition. We measured elevated surface temperature on a new pack across the first two full cutting sessions, and it normalised by the third. If the pack is too hot to hold comfortably after 5 cycles, that is a genuine fault — return it. Otherwise, let it complete the conditioning cycles.

The charger accepted the pack fine but the mower loses power noticeably faster than last season — what causes that?

Shallow cycling degrades Li-ion capacity faster than full discharge cycles do. If the previous battery was repeatedly charged after light use — say, one short lawn pass — without being discharged more fully, the cells build up a charge-depletion imbalance over time. A new 4000mAh pack at 36.5V restores full capacity, but to keep it there, run the battery down to the mower's low-battery indicator before recharging rather than topping it up after each short session.
