Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vision LED DayLite / LED DayLite HDi — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DVI-LEDS / OM0046)
This is a 7.4V, 3350mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Vision LED DayLite and LED DayLite HDi portable medical examination lights. It slots in where the original pack sits and restores full LED illumination output. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec: 7.4V, 3350mAh (24.79Wh).
- LED DayLite and HDi compatibility: Both the standard DayLite and the HDi share the same 7.4V Li-ion cell format, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — that's why one pack covers both. The HDi variant draws slightly more current at peak brightness, but sits within the same voltage rail.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack under a simulated clinical load profile. The BMS held voltage within the expected window, balanced the cells correctly, and tripped protection at the right cutoff threshold — no premature shutdowns during the test run.
- Post-swap self-test protocol: After installation, let the device complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The DayLite's BMS runs a verification sequence at startup — cutting power mid-cycle flags a false battery fault that won't clear until the next clean reboot.
Why the LED DayLite reports a battery fault after a confirmed full charge
The DayLite's charge IC applies conservative thresholds calibrated against OEM cell chemistry. A new replacement cell hasn't completed a full charge-discharge learn cycle, so the BMS may log a fault even when the pack reads full. This isn't a defective battery — it's the device's protection logic treating an uncalibrated cell with caution. Run one complete charge-to-discharge cycle before using the light in a clinical setting, and the BMS will register the new cell's actual capacity baseline.
Device not powering on after the battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the pack voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell (5.0V at pack level), the BMS engages deep-discharge lockout and blocks normal startup. The device won't power on — it may show nothing at all. Place the pack on charge immediately and leave it for a full charge cycle without interrupting. Most BMS circuits recover cells at this level; if the charge indicator doesn't activate within 30 minutes, the cell voltage has likely dropped below the recovery floor.

Frequently Asked Questions
The DayLite is alarming low battery straight after I charged the replacement — is the pack faulty?
It's almost always a BMS calibration issue, not a defective cell. The device's protection circuit is calibrated to OEM cell chemistry and flags an uncalibrated pack as low until it completes one full charge-discharge cycle. Run the battery down through normal use and recharge it fully before your next clinical session. After that first cycle, the alarm threshold resets against the actual cell baseline and the false low-battery warning stops.
The LED DayLite shuts off mid-examination even though the battery indicator looked fine minutes before.
During the first 10 cycles on a new cell, the DayLite's load profile stresses the pack harder than a calibrated OEM cell expects — voltage sag under peak LED draw can briefly dip below the BMS cutoff threshold, triggering a shutdown. This typically stabilises after the cell has completed several full cycles and the BMS has mapped the actual discharge curve. To reduce the risk before those cycles are done, start each session with a fully charged pack. Check the cell voltage at rest is above 7.2V before clinical use.
The charge indicator on the DayLite is stuck below 100% and won't move on the first charge of the new battery.
The charge IC applies a conservative current limit on cells it hasn't seen before, which extends the final top-up phase and can make the indicator appear stalled. Leave the device on charge for a full uninterrupted cycle — don't disconnect it when the indicator slows. On a first charge, the IC may hold at a reduced rate for longer than usual before terminating. The indicator will reach full once the charge IC completes its initialisation; subsequent charges will finish at the normal rate.
