Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

PHICOMM C1230L — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-F35)
This is a 3.7V Li-ion replacement battery for the PHICOMM C1230L smartphone. It carries the OEM part number BL-F35 and a capacity of 1800mAh (6.66Wh). It fits the C1230L directly, restoring power to a phone whose original cell has degraded or failed.
- C1230L cell fitment: The BL-F35 uses the same connector pinout and physical footprint as the factory cell. The BMS communicates over the same thermistor line the C1230L charge IC expects — no modified handshake required.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, full load discharge, and BMS cutoff verification. The protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage threshold and recovered cleanly on reconnect.
- First-cycle fuel gauge reset: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the charge IC begins pushing high-current fast charge into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the C1230L after a cell swap
A new cell has a slightly different discharge curve than the worn cell the fuel gauge IC was calibrated against. When the phone reads 25%, the actual cell voltage may already be sagging under modem or display load. The charge IC sees voltage drop below the safe floor and cuts power before the OS can gracefully shut down. One full discharge-to-charge cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter and pushes the cutoff point to the correct voltage — typically resolving premature shutdowns within two cycles.
Phone warm near the battery during the first few charges
A new cell starts with higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. The charge IC pushes the same current into that higher resistance, generating more heat at the cell surface during the constant-current phase. This is normal on cycles one through three and typically settles as impedance drops. If the phone remains noticeably warm beyond the third full charge, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a poor contact forces the charge IC to work harder and raises heat further.

Frequently Asked Questions
My PHICOMM C1230L won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is the cell dead?
Probably not dead, but the BMS has locked out below its minimum recovery threshold, typically 2.5V per cell after deep discharge in storage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 30 to 45 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery floor, at which point the BMS re-initialises and the phone powers on normally. If the charge indicator never appears after an hour on the wall charger, the cell has dropped too far for trickle recovery and needs replacement.
The battery percentage on my C1230L jumps around erratically — showing 60%, then 45%, then 70% within minutes of normal use.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a cell it hasn't seen before. The coulomb counter stored charge data from the old cell's discharge curve, and the new BL-F35 cell has a different voltage profile at each state of charge. Run two complete cycles — drain the phone until it shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using it. By the end of the second cycle the fuel gauge IC has enough discharge data to track the new cell accurately and the percentage readings stabilise.
Fast charging stopped working on my C1230L after I fitted the new BL-F35 — it only charges slowly now.
The charge IC on the C1230L won't engage fast-charge mode until it confirms the cell temperature and impedance are within acceptable limits. On a brand-new cell, impedance is higher than normal, and the IC defaults to a lower current rate as a precaution. This usually resolves after the first full charge cycle once the IC has logged a complete charge profile for the new cell. If fast charging still doesn't engage after two full cycles, confirm the charger output is at least 5V/2A — the C1230L's fast-charge protocol won't activate below that input threshold.
