Fits Eurocom Tornado F5 SE; replaces original 14.4V battery pack.
14.4V, 5100mAh (73.44Wh) — restores full capacity on this ultraportable workstation.
Connector seats parallel to motherboard with single locking tab; orientation fixed by keyed slot.
We bench-cycled this cell against the OEM pack; BMS accepted charge current without throttling on first cycle.
After install, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Eurocom Tornado F5 SE — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V, 5100mAh (73.44Wh) Li-ion battery for the Eurocom Tornado F5 SE laptop. It replaces a degraded or failed original cell to restore portable operation. Dimensions are 149.00 x 70.50 x 18.80mm — confirm these against your existing battery before ordering.

  • Tornado F5 SE platform fit: The F5 SE uses a specific voltage rail and connector pinout. This cell matches that rail at 14.4V nominal. The BMS handshake on the F5 SE reads cell data at boot — a mismatched voltage or pin layout trips an immediate fault flag.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, full discharge to BMS cutoff, and a second full charge. The BMS communicated cleanly at each stage with no fault codes triggered during the load cycle.
  • First-cycle calibration on the Tornado F5 SE: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The F5 SE BIOS runs a battery learn cycle on this sequence — skipping it leaves the fuel gauge reading against the old cell's stored EEPROM data, which shows inaccurate health warnings on every boot.

BIOS reporting poor battery health after fitting the new cell

The Tornado F5 SE BIOS caches health data from the previous cell in EEPROM. When a new cell is installed, the BIOS compares live readings against that cached data and flags a mismatch as degraded health. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is stale reference data. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle completes, the BIOS overwrites the cached EEPROM values and the health warning clears.

Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The displayed percentage is still mapped to the old cell's discharge profile, so the system hits real cell cutoff voltage well before the gauge reaches zero. The fix is a full calibration cycle — discharge fully until hibernate triggers, then charge to 100% without interruption. After two or three of these cycles the gauge IC locks onto the new cell's curve and the early shutdowns stop. Confirm the cell is sitting at or above 14.0V under light load after a full charge before assuming the cell is at fault.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Eurocom Tornado F5 SE shows 0% or "unknown battery" in Windows right after fitting the new cell — is it dead on arrival?

It is not dead. The Windows fuel gauge IC is still reading EEPROM data written by the old cell, and the new cell's charge state has not been mapped yet. Run the laptop down to hibernate on battery only, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that first full cycle the fuel gauge re-initialises against the new cell and the 0% or unknown reading clears.

The system info screen shows the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it lists something completely different from 73.44Wh.

The Wh figure displayed in system info is pulled from EEPROM data stored on the old cell, not read live from the new one. The F5 SE BIOS does not automatically overwrite that value at first boot. Complete one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by a full charge to 100% — this triggers the BIOS learn cycle and updates the stored Wh figure to match the fitted cell.

The new battery stopped charging at 80% and will not go higher — is the cell faulty?

In most cases this is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a cell fault. The Eurocom F5 SE firmware includes a charge ceiling setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during mains-connected use. Check the BIOS power settings or any pre-installed Eurocom system utility for a battery charge limit toggle. Set the ceiling to 100%, save the BIOS settings, and then run a full charge cycle to confirm the cell reaches 14.4V at full charge.
