These handheld devices control media playback, cursor movement, and menu navigation on smart TVs, Android boxes, and PCs. Replace this cell when the remote stops holding a charge or powers off unexpectedly during use.

The remote worked fine before, but after fitting this new battery it does absolutely nothing — no lights, no response. What's wrong?

The most likely cause is the JST connector not fully seated — even a slightly loose connection breaks the circuit entirely. Press the connector in until the locking tab clicks. If the cell arrived deeply discharged, the built-in protection circuit may have tripped; connect the remote to USB charge for 10–15 minutes to bring the cell above the 2.5V recovery threshold before testing again.

My Rii Mini i8 cursor is drifting and the gyroscope feels sluggish even though the remote still turns on — could that be the battery?

Yes. The gyroscope draws significantly more current than IR button presses, so a degraded cell sags under gyro load while still supplying enough voltage for basic functions. This creates erratic cursor movement or tracking dropout that looks like a sensor fault but is actually a voltage issue. Swap the cell and the gyroscope response should return to normal immediately.

The new battery seems to drain noticeably faster than I expected — is something wrong with the remote?

Fast drain in a low-draw device like this is usually a stuck or partially depressed button creating a constant parasitic draw. Open the remote and check that no key is jammed under the housing edge — even slight pressure keeps the MCU active and pulls current continuously. If all buttons clear freely, verify the replacement cell is fully charged before drawing conclusions; cells shipped in storage state can show misleading early drain figures until they complete one full charge cycle.
