Fits Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra models SM-X900, SM-X906, SM-X906B and replaces OEM part EB-BX906ABY.
3.88V at 10500mAh capacity delivers 40.74Wh to power the display, processor, and WiFi radio across full daily cycles.
Connector type is proprietary Samsung internal — no external plug; battery slides into the main compartment with alignment tabs on both edges.
We bench-tested this cell against the fuel gauge IC on a Tab S8 Ultra; BMS reported correct voltage signature on first boot with no fault codes.
Run one complete discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this recalibrates the fuel gauge IC to the new cell and fixes inaccurate percentage display after swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra — 3.88V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BX906ABY)

This is a 3.88V, 10500mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra tablet. It fits the SM-X900, SM-X906, and SM-X906B model variants. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds charge or the tablet shuts down unexpectedly under load.

  • SM-X900 and SM-X906 series compatibility: Both the Wi-Fi (SM-X900) and 5G (SM-X906/SM-X906B) variants use the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — the EB-BX906ABY fits all without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra unit. The BMS negotiated correctly with the charge IC, hit full cutoff at 4.35V, and reported state of charge without fault flags in the system diagnostic.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after install: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the fuel gauge IC calibration against the new cell and eliminates the inaccurate percentage readings that appear immediately after a swap.

Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra shutting down at 15–25% remaining

The Tab S8 Ultra drives a 14.6-inch AMOLED display alongside Wi-Fi, 5G, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 — a combined load that pulls hard on the cell under peak use. An aged battery hits a voltage cliff earlier than expected under this load, and the BMS triggers a protective shutdown before the percentage gauge reaches zero. The fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so the reported percentage no longer reflects the actual cell voltage. After fitting the replacement, run one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% to remap the gauge to the new cell.

Fast charging not resuming after battery replacement

The Tab S8 Ultra uses Samsung's 45W USB-PD fast charge protocol, which requires a completed charge handshake between the charge IC and the new cell before it unlocks higher wattage. On a fresh replacement, the first charge cycle may run at standard speed while the charge IC profiles the new cell. Plug in using the original 45W adapter and cable — third-party cables frequently lack the wiring to carry the full PD negotiation. After one complete charge cycle to 100%, fast charging resumes at full wattage on subsequent sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra shows 40% battery but just switched off — why?

The fuel gauge IC inside the tablet was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. When a new cell is installed, that calibration is out of sync, and the IC misreads the actual cell voltage — triggering a BMS shutdown before the display percentage reaches zero. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single cycle remaps the gauge to the new cell and stops the premature shutdowns.

The percentage on my Tab S8 Ultra is jumping around and dropping faster than it should from a full charge — is the new battery faulty?

This is fuel gauge drift, not a faulty cell. The charge IC calibrated its state-of-charge model on the old battery's internal resistance and capacity profile. The new cell has different characteristics, so the percentage readings are unreliable until the gauge relearns. Complete one full discharge to automatic shutoff followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100% — after that cycle the percentage tracking stabilises.

The tablet feels warm near the charging port after fitting the replacement battery — is something wrong?

Warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new cell is expected. The charge IC runs a profiling pass on the new cell — measuring internal resistance and adjusting charge current — which generates slightly more heat than a normal session on a broken-in cell. If the tablet stays warm after the second or third full charge, check that you are using a Samsung-certified 45W adapter; third-party adapters that misreport wattage can cause the charge IC to cycle inefficiently and sustain heat. Measure the adapter output with a USB power meter — it should hold steady at 45W during fast charge.
