• CL490 fit: The CL490 runs a 14.4V motor rail with a Ni-MH cell pack. This replacement matches that voltage and the physical pack dimensions (179 × 51 × 52mm), so the connector seats correctly and the motor control circuit sees the expected supply.

Motor cuts out and then recovers after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the CL490 motor sustains a restricted airflow condition — blocked filter, jammed brush roll, or a hard-surface-to-carpet transition under load — current draw spikes beyond the BMS threshold and the pack shuts output momentarily. The BMS resets after a short cooldown and the motor restarts. Fix the restriction first: clean or replace the filter, then retest at 14.4V open-circuit to confirm the pack is intact.
