Carneo SC400 — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V, 3000mAh Ni-MH battery pack for the Carneo SC400 and 400 cordless vacuum cleaner. It replaces the original pack when capacity has dropped or the battery no longer holds a charge. Voltage and cell chemistry match the factory specification.

• SC400 and 400 platform fit: Both model designations share the same 14.4V power rail, connector layout, and cell bay dimensions. The replacement pack slots into the same housing and draws from the same charging circuit without modification.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the SC400 platform. The BMS held cutoff voltage correctly under simulated motor load, and the charger handshake completed without fault codes or interrupted charge cycles.
• Dock charging habit on the SC400: Do not leave the SC400 sitting on the charging dock continuously between uses. Ni-MH cells in cordless vacuums degrade noticeably faster under constant trickle charge. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the SC400

Ni-MH packs deliver voltage in a relatively flat curve, but a degraded or partially discharged cell group will sag under the motor's draw before the indicator registers low. A blocked or clogged filter forces the motor to pull harder than rated current, accelerating that sag. The result is reduced suction well before the pack is actually depleted. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers, the issue was load-related, not cell capacity.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the SC400's filter is partially blocked, the motor sustains restricted airflow and draws above its rated current threshold. The BMS reads that spike and cuts the circuit to protect the cells. After a short pause, the pack cools and the BMS resets. Clear the filter and check the brush roll for hair or debris wrap — if the cutout stops, the pack itself is not the cause.
