Fits Gutrend ECHO 520, SENSE 410, SMART 300, and STYLE 220 cordless vacuums.
14.4V lithium-ion at 2600mAh delivers 37.44Wh — matches OEM output for sustained motor draw on carpet.
Connector seats flat into the battery slot; locking tab clicks down to secure against vibration.
We ran a full discharge cycle on the ECHO 520 — BMS held voltage steady through heavy suction loads.
Do not leave this battery on the charging dock after reaching full charge; continuous trickle charging degrades capacity significantly faster than standard charge-and-remove cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Gutrend ECHO 520 / SENSE 410 / SMART 300 — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V 2600mAh (37.44Wh) lithium-ion battery for the Gutrend ECHO 520, SENSE 410, SMART 300, and STYLE 220 cordless stick vacuums. It restores full motor power when the original cell has degraded. Voltage and connector match the original battery pack on these models.

  • ECHO 520 / SENSE 410 / SMART 300 / STYLE 220 compatibility: These four Gutrend models share the same 14.4V battery platform, connector housing, and BMS communication protocol — a single cell fits all of them without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a Gutrend ECHO 520 unit. The BMS handshook correctly with the vacuum's charge controller, accepted a full charge without fault codes, and the motor drew current at rated load without triggering overcurrent cutoff.
  • Dock charging behaviour on these vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on its charging dock continuously. Gutrend stick vacuums on permanent dock charge trickle-charge the cell around the clock, which accelerates capacity fade significantly. Charge to full and remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This is a voltage sag issue, not a capacity issue. When the filter is partially blocked or the brush roll is restricted, the motor draws more current than rated. The cell voltage dips under that load before the state-of-charge indicator registers low. The vacuum reads the pack as charged but the motor can't sustain full RPM. Clean the filter and check the brush roll for hair wrap before replacing the battery — a new cell will show the same symptom if the restriction stays.

Motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers after a few seconds

This is the BMS tripping on an overcurrent event, not the battery failing. Sustained restricted airflow — blocked filter, packed dust cup, or a jammed brush roll — forces the motor to pull above the BMS's rated current threshold. The BMS shuts the output, the motor stops, then the BMS resets once current demand drops. Clearing the restriction stops the cycle. If the cutout happens even on an unloaded, clean machine, the cell may have aged to the point where its internal resistance spikes enough to trigger the same overcurrent threshold — at that point, a fresh cell reading above 14.0V at rest under no-load confirms the original pack is at end of life.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Gutrend ECHO 520 suction feels weak right from the start of a clean — is that the battery?

Weak suction from the first pass is usually a blocked filter or full dust cup forcing the motor to work against restricted airflow, not a battery fault. A restricted motor draws above its rated current, which causes voltage sag even on a fully charged cell. Clean or replace the filter and empty the dust cup first. If suction recovers, the battery was never the issue — if it stays weak on a clean machine, check the cell voltage at rest; a healthy 14.4V pack should read above 14.0V with no load.

The vacuum ran fine for months and now the battery drains noticeably faster than it used to — what causes that?

Capacity fade on these Gutrend vacuums most often comes from continuous dock charging. Leaving the vacuum docked between every use keeps the cell in a constant low-level charge state, which degrades lithium-ion cells faster than charge-and-remove cycles. A replacement cell will recover full capacity, but the same fade will return quickly if the vacuum stays on the dock permanently. Charge to full, remove from the dock, and only reconnect when the battery is depleted.

The Gutrend ECHO 520 won't charge on the new replacement battery — the charger light just stays off or blinks an error.

This points to a BMS handshake issue between the replacement cell and the vacuum's charge controller. The charger expects a specific voltage signal from the BMS before it opens the charge circuit. If the replacement cell shipped deeply discharged, the BMS may have locked out entirely. Connect the battery to the charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without interruption — some BMS units need a trickle pre-charge window before the handshake completes. If the charge light still does not respond, measure the pack terminals with a multimeter; a reading below 10V on a 14.4V cell indicates a deep-discharge lockout that requires a slow 0.1A pre-charge to recover the BMS.
