This is a 3.6V, 600mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Aastra cordless DECT handsets. It fits the BE25CHT, JB800PL, JB960, and Maestro 6300CW models. When the original pack stops holding a charge, this swap restores the handset to full working order.

• Fits across the Aastra DECT handset range: The BE25CHT, JB800PL, JB960, and Maestro 6300CW all run on the same 3.6V single-cell Ni-MH pack with identical form factor and connector orientation. One battery covers the group.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the BE25CHT base station. The BMS accepted the charge without triggering an error light, and voltage held steady at 3.6V nominal across the draw profile of the handset's RF and audio circuits.
• First-charge protocol for Ni-MH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells shipped in partial-discharge state need a slow, uninterrupted charge cycle to reach rated 600mAh capacity. Pulling it early locks in a lower ceiling.

Talk time shorter than expected after fitting the new battery

Ni-MH cells do not deliver full rated capacity on the first charge cycle. On a fresh pack, the crystal structure in the electrode material hasn't fully activated, so the battery won't reach 600mAh straight away. Run three to five full charge-and-discharge cycles through normal use and the capacity steps up each time. By cycle five, the pack should be performing at or near its rated output.

Aastra base stations check the incoming voltage from the handset pack before initiating a charge. A battery stored for several months can drop below the threshold the base expects to see — typically under 3.0V — and the base reads it as a fault rather than a flat cell. Remove the handset, leave it out of the base for 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly. If the error light persists, check the handset contacts and base cradle pins are clean and making full contact before reseating.
