Fits AudioVox AT14 handset; replaces OEM battery pack 3.6V 600mAh.
3.6V 600mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers full talk time and standby on AT14 cordless phones.
Connector slides into battery slot on handset base; no locking tab, straight insertion only.
We bench-tested this cell in AT14 handsets; BMS accepted voltage immediately on first dock.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AudioVox AT14 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 600mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the AudioVox AT14 cordless phone handset. It replaces the original pack when the handset no longer holds charge or drops calls due to voltage sag. Dimensions are 40.00 x 42.00 x 13.50mm — confirm against your existing pack before ordering.

  • AT14 handset fit: The AT14 runs a 3.6V single-cell NiMH architecture common to compact DECT handsets. The connector orientation and cell footprint match the original factory pack, so the base station charging circuit sees the same voltage profile it expects.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on a NiMH-compatible analyser. The BMS accepted charge without thermal event, and terminal voltage held above 3.4V through the discharge curve.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells shipped in storage state need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step will leave the pack under-formed and talk time will feel short from day one.

Range drops mid-call after installing a new NiMH pack

DECT transmit power is drawn in short high-current bursts. A new or under-conditioned NiMH pack has higher internal resistance than a fully cycled one, causing voltage to sag during those RF bursts. When the handset voltage dips too far, the radio cuts back transmit power to protect the circuit — and range suffers. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles to lower internal resistance and the range issue typically resolves without any further changes.

Base station shows no charge light after swapping the battery

A NiMH pack that has sat in storage can arrive with a terminal voltage below the threshold the AT14 base station uses to confirm contact and begin charging. The base interprets this as no battery present and shows no indicator. Remove the handset, hold the battery contacts against a NiMH-compatible charger externally for 10–15 minutes until voltage reaches at least 3.0V, then re-seat it in the base. The base should recognise the pack and the charge light should activate within 60 seconds.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AT14 talk time is much shorter than the original battery — is the new pack faulty?

Most likely not. NiMH cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. After a long storage period, the cell chemistry is partially deactivated and won't deliver full runtime on the first few uses. Run the handset until the low-battery warning sounds, then return it to the base for a full 16-hour charge — repeat this cycle three to five times and talk time should recover to rated capacity.

My AT14 handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT phones store pairing data in volatile memory that is cleared when power is fully removed. Swapping the battery breaks that power and the handset forgets the base. Re-register the handset using the pairing procedure in your AT14 manual — typically this means pressing the registration button on the base unit until the LED flashes, then confirming on the handset. No battery fault is involved here.

The AT14 battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what causes this?

This is almost always a seating problem, not a battery fault. If the handset contacts are not fully aligned with the base charging pins, the charging circuit never activates and standby draw slowly empties the pack. Remove the handset, wipe the charging contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then firmly re-seat the handset and check that the charge indicator lights up. If the light still does not activate, check terminal voltage at the battery contacts — it should read above 3.0V confirming the base is delivering current.
