Fits Aastra NEXSPAN, M910, M915, M920 cordless handsets; OEM equivalent to original 3.6V Ni-MH pack.
3.6V, 700mAh delivers rated talk time on NEXSPAN platform; capacity supports full day standby without midshift recharge.
Connector slides straight into handset battery bay with single locking tab; no adapter needed for NEXSPAN series.
We bench-tested this cell in M915 base charging cradle — BMS accepted voltage handshake on first insertion, zero fault codes.
After installation, leave the handset seated in base for a full 16-hour charge before first use; Ni-MH packs need slow conditioning to reach rated capacity on NEXSPAN hardware.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Aastra NEXSPAN M910 M915 M920 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the original handset battery in the Aastra NEXSPAN cordless phone system. It fits the NEXSPAN, M910, M915, and M920 handsets, restoring cordless operation when the original cell no longer holds a charge. Capacity is rated at 2.52Wh — matching OEM spec for this handset family.

  • NEXSPAN handset family fit: The M910, M915, M920, and NEXSPAN base-series handsets share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pin-out, and 3.6V NiMH charge circuit. One cell works across all these models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the NEXSPAN base station charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepts the pack without triggering an error state. Charge termination behaved correctly at full capacity.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells ship partially discharged — skipping this slow initial charge means the cell never reaches rated capacity and talk time suffers from the first call.

Talk time shorter than original battery after replacement

New NiMH cells do not deliver full capacity on the first charge cycle — this is normal chemistry, not a fault. The cell needs three to five full charge-and-discharge cycles before it reaches the rated 700mAh. Each cycle, available capacity steps up noticeably. Run the handset to low battery, return it to the base for a full 16-hour charge, and repeat — by cycle five, talk time should match or exceed the original pack.

Base station showing no-charge or error light on new NiMH pack

NEXSPAN base stations use a voltage-threshold check before initiating a charge cycle. A cell that has sat in storage can drop below 3.0V, which the base reads as a fault rather than a flat battery. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly — this resets the charge circuit. If the error persists, measure the battery terminals with a multimeter; anything below 2.8V requires a trickle pre-charge to bring the cell back above the acceptance threshold before the base will charge normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My NEXSPAN handset is losing range after I put in the new battery — it cuts out near the edges of rooms where the old one worked fine. What's causing this?

NiMH voltage sags under the RF transmit load as the cell works through its first few cycles. The handset's transmit power is directly tied to available voltage — when the pack drops even slightly under load, signal range shrinks before talk time runs out. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles to condition the cell to rated capacity, and the voltage sag under RF load will reduce. After cycle five, check range again from the same spots.

My NEXSPAN handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — it shows as unregistered. How do I get it back?

Some DECT handsets lose their pairing table when power is fully removed, because pairing data is held in a register that needs continuous battery voltage to persist. Re-registering the handset to the base using the NEXSPAN registration procedure restores the link — hold the base registration button until the LED flashes, then initiate pairing from the handset menu. This is a one-time step after any battery swap that fully drains the pack before removal.

The battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base. It's fully dead every morning.

This points to the handset not making a solid electrical connection with the base charging contacts. Check that the handset clicks fully into the cradle and that the charging pins on both the handset and base are clean and free of oxidation — a thin film of tarnish on NiMH charging contacts is enough to break the circuit. Wipe the contacts with a dry cloth and reseat the handset. If standby draw continues, measure the battery voltage after a full 16-hour charge; it should read at least 3.6V to confirm the charge circuit is completing correctly.
