Fits Sagem MC900, MC901, and MC902 cordless phone handsets; replaces original 3.6V battery pack.
3.6V, 700mAh capacity supports talk and standby time typical of DECT handsets on this platform.
Connector is slide-in with positive and negative contact pads; seats flush into handset battery cavity.
Bench test showed NiMH BMS accepted charge current from base station without fault codes or cutoff.
Place handset in base for a full 16-hour charge before first use—NiMH needs slow conditioning cycle to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sagem MC900 / MC901 / MC902 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V 700mAh Ni-MH battery for the Sagem MC900, MC901, and MC902 cordless DECT handsets. It replaces the original pack when the handset no longer holds a charge or drops off calls. Dimensions are 46.60 × 31.40 × 10.60mm — verify against your existing battery before ordering.

  • MC900 / MC901 / MC902 fitment: These three handsets share the same battery bay dimensions, connector orientation, and 3.6V supply rail. One pack covers all three models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the MC902 handset. The base station accepted charge on the first cycle, and the BMS held voltage within the handset's operating window throughout the test.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells in cordless phone packs ship partially discharged — a slow initial charge lets each cell reach rated capacity. Skipping this step often causes short talk time complaints in the first week.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

New Ni-MH cells rarely deliver full rated capacity out of the box. The cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before the electrodes stabilise and capacity reaches 700mAh. Each cycle should be a complete charge in the base followed by normal use until the handset signals low battery. By cycle four or five, talk time should match or exceed the original pack.

Base station shows no charge or error light after new pack installed

Ni-MH packs sit in warehouse storage for months and can arrive at 1.0V per cell or lower. Some Sagem base stations reject a pack below roughly 3.0V total because the charger circuit expects a minimum voltage before engaging. Remove the battery, short the contacts with a resistor or a known-good charger to nudge the voltage above the acceptance threshold, then reseat in the base. If the base charges a known-good pack without error, the incoming voltage was the cause.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Sagem MC900 handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix that?

Some DECT handsets drop their pairing data when power is fully interrupted during a battery swap. The fix is to re-register the handset to the base: hold the base station's paging or register button until the LED flashes, then follow the handset's pairing menu. Full pairing steps are in the MC900 user manual, but the sequence typically takes under two minutes.

The battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — is the new pack faulty?

This is almost always a seating issue, not a faulty cell. If the handset sits slightly off-centre in the cradle, the charge contacts do not touch and the handset runs on battery in standby all night. Remove the handset, clean the gold charge contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, reseat firmly, and check that the charge indicator light activates. If the light does not come on after reseating, the base contacts may need slight repositioning.

The Sagem MC902 handset loses range and cuts out near the edges of the house — could the battery be causing this?

Yes — Ni-MH voltage sag under RF load is a direct cause of reduced range. When the handset transmits, it draws a short current spike. A partially conditioned or low-state-of-charge Ni-MH pack lets voltage drop below the transmit circuit's minimum, and the handset reduces output power or drops the call. Run three full charge cycles first. If range is still short, check resting voltage across the battery terminals — it should read at least 3.5V on a full charge before use.
