Fits Philips CP200, CP200S, TD9200, TD9260 cordless handsets; replaces OEM battery pack 4.8V Ni-MH.
4.8V, 1300mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers talk time on a single charge cycle for typical DECT range coverage.
Connector inserts vertically into the handset battery slot with a single locking tab; no polarity risk on proper seating.
We bench-tested this cell on a CP200 base charger — BMS voltage reads 4.8V at rest, accepts charge cycle without fault light.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips CP200 / TD9200 Series — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This 4.8V, 1300mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the original handset battery in the Philips CP200, CP200S, TD9200, and TD9260 cordless phones. It restores full handset operation when the original pack can no longer hold a usable charge. Dimensions are 56.50 x 50.38 x 14.56mm — confirm these against your existing pack before ordering.

  • CP200 and TD9200 series fit: These models share the same handset battery bay dimensions, connector orientation, and 4.8V NiMH voltage rail. The base station charges at a trickle rate matched to this cell chemistry, so swapping to a different voltage or chemistry would confuse the base charger circuit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the base station charge cycle and monitored cell voltage at termination. The BMS in the base correctly detected end-of-charge and stopped topping without overrun on all test units.
  • First charge after installation: Place the handset in the base for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cordless phone packs ship in partial-charge state and need a slow initial charge cycle to reach rated 1300mAh capacity — skipping this step typically results in noticeably short talk sessions for the first few uses.

Base station showing no charge light after fitting new NiMH pack

NiMH cells sitting in storage drop below the voltage threshold some Philips base stations use to confirm a valid battery is seated. When the resting voltage is too low, the base withholds charge current entirely rather than triggering a recovery charge. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly — full contact on the charging pins is critical. If the charge indicator still doesn't activate, check that cell voltage at the terminals is at or above 3.6V before placing in the base.

Talk time noticeably shorter than the original battery for the first week

This is a NiMH conditioning issue, not a faulty cell. Fresh NiMH packs need three to five full charge-and-use cycles before the crystalline structure inside the cells reaches full capacity. Each cycle should end with the handset returned to the base until the charge indicator clears. By cycle four or five, capacity stabilises at the rated 1300mAh and talk time matches expectations.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Philips CP200 handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some DECT cordless phones clear their pairing data when power drops completely. Re-register the handset using the base station's paging or registration button — on most Philips DECT bases, hold the registration button for 5–10 seconds until the base enters pairing mode, then follow the handset prompts to reconnect.

The battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what's causing that?

This usually means the handset isn't making a clean connection with the base charging pins. Even a slight tilt or debris on the contacts stops charge current from flowing, so the handset runs on battery in standby all night. Clean the charging contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, reseat the handset, and confirm the charge indicator light activates within a few seconds of docking.

Range on the CP200 dropped after fitting the new battery — calls cut out further from the base than before.

Under RF load, the transmitter in the handset pulls more current than standby, which causes a voltage sag if the NiMH pack isn't properly conditioned. A partially conditioned NiMH cell can't sustain the transmit current without its voltage dipping, which causes the handset to reduce output power or drop the connection. Run three to five full charge-and-use cycles to condition the pack — cell voltage under load should stabilise above 4.2V once the cells are fully cycled.
