Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Acer Aspire E5-475G Series — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AS16A5K)
This is a 14.8V, 2200mAh (32.56Wh) Li-ion battery for the Acer Aspire E5-475G and related E5-series laptops. It replaces OEM part numbers AS16A5K, AS16A7K, AS16A8K, and KT.0040G.007. The connector, cell count, and BMS handshake all match the original Acer specification.
- Aspire E5-475G, E5-523G, E5-553G, E5-573G compatibility: These models share a common 14.8V four-cell architecture with the same connector pinout and BMS communication protocol, which is why one cell pack covers all of them without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on an E5-series unit and confirmed the BMS initialised correctly, charge acceptance reached full capacity, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold without forcing a hard shutdown.
- Post-install calibration on Acer E5 units: After fitting, run the laptop on battery until it hibernates at low charge, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
Why the Aspire E5-475G shuts down at 20–30% battery remaining
The E5-475G runs the CPU and discrete GPU simultaneously under load, which draws peak current the aging original cell cannot sustain. When cell voltage sags under that combined load, it crosses the BMS cutoff threshold before the OS fuel gauge reaches zero. The laptop registers this as a shutdown at what looks like 20–30% remaining. A new cell with full capacity holds its voltage curve under load and eliminates this early cutoff behaviour.
BIOS reporting battery health as "Poor" immediately after fitting a new cell
The Acer BIOS reads health data cached in the battery's EEPROM, not live cell voltage. When a new cell is installed, the EEPROM data does not yet match the BIOS's learned discharge profile from the previous pack, so it flags the health as poor. This clears after one or two complete discharge-and-charge calibration cycles. Run the laptop to hibernate cutoff on battery, then charge fully to 100% — the BIOS updates its stored profile and the health warning disappears.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Acer Aspire E5-475G shows 0% or "unknown" battery in Windows right after putting in a new cell — what's wrong?
The Windows fuel gauge IC lost its reference data when the old cell was removed and has not yet calibrated against the new one. This is an EEPROM data gap, not a fault with the replacement cell. Run the laptop on battery until it hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one or two full cycles the fuel gauge re-establishes its baseline and reads accurately.
The new battery is only charging to 80% and stops — is the cell defective?
This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a cell fault. Acer's firmware on several E5-series models includes a battery care setting that caps charge at 80% to reduce cell stress — it ships enabled on some units. Open the Acer Care Center application, navigate to Battery Care Mode, and disable the charge limit. The cell will then charge to 100%.
Windows is showing the wrong Wh rating for this battery in Power Options — it says a different number than 32.56Wh.
The Wh figure Windows displays is pulled from the EEPROM on the battery pack, which stores the manufacturer's rated design capacity. The EEPROM value and the actual measured capacity of the new cell can differ slightly due to chemistry tolerances. This does not affect how the battery charges or discharges. To confirm actual capacity, run a full discharge cycle and check the "Full Charge Capacity" value in powercfg /batteryreport — it updates after the first complete cycle.
