Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei MateBook D 15 2020 — 11.46V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB4692J5ECW-31)
This is an 11.46V, 3600mAh (41.26Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Huawei MateBook D 15 2020 and related MateBook D 15 variants. It replaces the original HB4692J5ECW-31 cell when capacity has dropped or the battery no longer holds a charge. Fits the MateBook D 15-53010TUY and MateBook D 15 AMD models among others in the D 15 lineup.
- MateBook D 15 series compatibility: These models share the same battery tray format, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol tied to the HB4692J5ECW-31 part number. The voltage rail at 11.46V is consistent across the Intel and AMD variants of the D 15 platform, so one cell fits the full range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the MateBook D 15. The BMS communicated correctly with the firmware, charge current tapered cleanly at capacity, and no fault codes were logged during cycling.
- Post-install learn cycle: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears in system info after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting poor battery health after fitting a new cell
The MateBook D 15 BIOS reads health data stored in the battery's EEPROM and compares it against the previous cell's cycle history. A brand-new cell has no discharge history, so the BIOS flags it as degraded or unknown until it accumulates calibration data. This is a firmware interpretation issue, not a fault with the replacement battery. One full discharge-to-hibernate followed by a complete uninterrupted charge clears the warning on most MateBook D 15 units.
Laptop shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The IC maps percentage to voltage using data from the old cell, so it misreads the new cell's voltage cliff and triggers a low-battery shutdown before the display figure hits zero. The fix is calibration — discharge the laptop under normal CPU and display load until it hibernates, then charge fully without interruption. After two to three cycles the fuel gauge IC re-maps the curve and the shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
My MateBook D 15 shows the replacement battery as 0% or "unknown" in Windows Battery Report — is the cell dead?
No — the fuel gauge IC is reading EEPROM data from the old cell and hasn't mapped the new cell's voltage curve yet. Windows Battery Report pulls from that cached data on the first boot, which is why it shows 0% or an unknown state. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one or two complete cycles the IC recalibrates and Battery Report displays accurate figures.
Windows shows the MateBook D 15 battery Wh rating as lower than 41.26Wh after I swapped the cell — why?
The Wh figure Windows displays is pulled from the EEPROM data the BIOS reads off the new cell, and the rated chemistry figure written at manufacture sometimes differs slightly from what the fuel gauge IC calculates after measuring actual charge throughput. This is an EEPROM-versus-measured discrepancy, not a capacity defect. Let the cell go through two or three full charge-discharge cycles — Windows recalculates the full-charge capacity from measured data and the reported Wh figure stabilises closer to the rated 41.26Wh.
The MateBook D 15 stops charging at 80% and the charge light goes off — is the replacement battery faulty?
Almost certainly not a battery fault. Huawei's BIOS includes a charge-limit mode that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during extended mains use — it's a firmware-controlled setting, not a hardware response to the cell itself. Check Power & Sleep settings or Huawei PC Manager for a "Battery Protection" or charge threshold toggle and disable it. Once that setting is off, the battery will charge to 100%.
