Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Advent 4213 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (G10-3S3600-S1A1)

This 11.1V, 6600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Advent 4213 notebook. It matches the OEM voltage, connector, and BMS handshake so the laptop powers on and charges normally. Capacity is rated at 73.26Wh — identical to the factory specification for this model.

  • Advent 4213 fitment: The 4213 uses a three-series, three-parallel cell arrangement (3S3P) that fixes both the voltage rail at 11.1V and the physical connector pinout. This replacement matches that exact configuration, so the BMS handshake completes on first boot without firmware errors.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, discharge, and a full CPU-plus-display load test. The BMS held the charge cutoff correctly at 12.6V and the discharge cutoff fired cleanly before cell damage voltage — no mid-session shutdowns during testing.
  • Post-installation calibration on the 4213: Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle on the 4213 and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

Why the Advent 4213 shuts down at 20–30% remaining after a battery swap

The fuel gauge IC inside the 4213 stores discharge curve data calibrated to the old cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC misreads the voltage slope and triggers a system shutdown well before the actual cell is depleted. This is not a battery fault — it is a calibration mismatch. Run two to three full discharge-to-hibernate then uninterrupted charge cycles. After that, the fuel gauge re-maps to the new cell's curve and the shutdown at 20–30% stops.

BIOS reports battery health as "poor" or "replace soon" immediately after fitting a new cell

The BIOS reads health data from the battery's EEPROM, which still carries the wear flags written by the old cell. The new cell's EEPROM ships with different cycle-count and state-of-health values than the BIOS expects, triggering the warning. Perform the battery learn cycle: discharge fully to hibernate, then charge to 100% without interruption. This prompts the BIOS to re-evaluate the cell and clear the health flag — confirm in BIOS under the battery status screen after the cycle completes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Advent 4213 shows the new battery as 0% or "unknown" right after installing it — is the cell dead?

The fuel gauge IC hasn't mapped itself to the new cell yet, so it reports back nonsense data until it runs a calibration cycle. The cell itself is fine. Discharge the laptop fully until it hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without waking it mid-cycle. After one complete cycle the percentage reading stabilises to an accurate figure.

Windows is showing the Advent 4213's new battery at a lower Wh rating than the 73.26Wh spec — why does the number not match?

The Wh figure Windows displays is pulled from the EEPROM on the battery PCB, and that value reflects the rated chemistry spec rather than a live measurement. A small difference between the EEPROM figure and the 73.26Wh product spec is normal and does not indicate a fault. Run the battery through one full discharge-to-hibernate and full recharge cycle — Windows will then recalculate the full-charge capacity figure from actual measured data and the displayed Wh will align more closely with spec.

The Advent 4213's new battery stopped charging at 80% and won't go higher — is the charger or the battery the problem?

Neither — this is a BIOS-controlled charge limit that some Advent 4213 units enable automatically after detecting a battery swap. The BIOS interprets the new cell's EEPROM data as a degraded pack and caps charging as a precaution. Enter the BIOS setup (typically F2 at boot), locate the battery or power management section, and disable any charge threshold or battery health mode setting. After saving and rebooting, the charge ceiling lifts and the cell charges to 100%.
