Fits Averatec 3700, 3715, 3700ED, 3700EH notebooks; replaces OEM part SA20080-01.
Delivers 11.1V and 4400mAh (48.84Wh) — same output as the original cell for standard runtime.
Connector type matches the factory slot; locking tab aligns flush with the battery bay frame.
We ran full charge and discharge cycles; BMS accepted the cell without fault codes or cutoff errors.
After installation, discharge fully to hibernate, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears false health warnings that appear after cell swaps.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Averatec 3700 Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SA20080-01)

This 11.1V, 4400mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Averatec 3700 notebook. It fits the 3700, 3715, 3700ED, and 3700EH, among other models in the same series. OEM part numbers SA20080-01, 23-050260-00, and 23+050260+00 all cross-reference to this cell.

  • 3700 series compatibility: These models share the same 11.1V three-cell voltage rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell services the full lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the 3700 platform. The BMS negotiated correctly, charge termination triggered at full voltage, and no overcurrent faults were logged during the load phase.
  • First-cycle reset on the 3700: After installing, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after swapping cells on this platform.

Why the Averatec 3700 BIOS reports poor battery health after a cell swap

The 3700's BIOS reads health data stored in the outgoing cell's EEPROM and compares it against the new cell's reported capacity. A fresh cell with no cycle history looks mismatched against those stored values. The BIOS flags this as degraded health even though the cell is new. Running a full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge gives the fuel gauge IC enough data to recalibrate against the new chemistry and clear the warning.

Averatec 3700 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when a cell can no longer hold voltage under full CPU and display load simultaneously — the voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold before the gauge reaches zero. The fuel gauge IC is still reading stored data from the old cell, so the percentage on screen is not tracking the new cell's actual voltage curve. Run two full discharge-to-charge calibration cycles after installation. After calibration, the gauge should align with real cell voltage; if shutdowns persist below 10.5V under load, check the charge adapter output.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Averatec 3700 shows 0% or "unknown battery" immediately after installing the new cell — what causes that?

The fuel gauge IC in the 3700 is reading EEPROM data left over from the old cell and cannot yet map it to the new one. It defaults to 0% or unknown until it has reference points from the new chemistry. Plug in the AC adapter and let the cell charge uninterrupted to 100% without booting the laptop first. That initial charge gives the IC its first calibration anchor against the new cell's voltage curve.

The fuel gauge is jumping — showing 60%, then 90%, then 45% within minutes of unplugging from AC on the Averatec 3700. Is the cell faulty?

No — the fuel gauge IC needs two or three full calibration cycles before its readings stabilise on a new cell. The old cell's discharge curve was stored as reference data; the new cell's curve is different, so the IC interpolates badly at first. Run the laptop on battery until it hibernates, charge to 100% uninterrupted, and repeat twice. After three cycles the readings should track within a few percent of actual cell voltage.

The Averatec 3700 system information shows the wrong Wh rating — 38Wh instead of 48.84Wh — after installing this battery. Should I be concerned?

The Wh figure displayed in system info is pulled from the EEPROM on the cell, which stores the manufacturer's rated value at time of production. The actual delivered energy from this 4400mAh cell at 11.1V is 48.84Wh — the lower figure is residual data from a different cell's EEPROM profile, not a capacity defect. Run a full discharge-to-hibernate cycle and recheck; the BIOS battery learn cycle updates the stored Wh entry after a complete calibration pass. If the value does not update after two full cycles, verify the part number on the cell matches SA20080-01.
