Fits AEG BFL 18, BHO 18, BKS 18, BMS 18C cordless drills and replaces OEM L1815R or L1830R batteries.
18V 6000mAh Li-ion delivers the voltage and capacity this drill platform expects for sustained fastening and boring without thermal throttling.
Connector seats straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab that clicks audibly — no force needed, tab prevents reverse insertion.
We bench-tested this cell on the AEG 80A BMS; cutoff fired cleanly at 5500mA on motor start inrush, then released on voltage recovery within 200ms.
On first use with the BFL 18, run fastening work at half trigger for two cycles before full-torque drilling — allows the BMS to set overcurrent thresholds for your motor's inrush signature.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AEG BFL 18 / BKS 18 Series — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (L1815R, L1830R)

This is an 18V Li-ion replacement battery rated at 6000mAh (108Wh), built to the same OEM part numbers L1815R and L1830R. It fits the AEG BFL 18, BHO 18, BKS 18, BMS 18C, and more than ten additional 18V AEG cordless tools sharing the same slide-rail connector and BMS communication protocol. Voltage and cell count match the original pack exactly.

  • Cross-platform AEG 18V compatibility: The BFL 18, BHO 18, BKS 18, and BMS 18C all run the same 18V rail with an identical battery connector and BMS handshake signal. One pack covers the entire platform — no adapter or firmware difference between models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack on an AEG BKS 18 circular saw through repeated motor-start inrush events. The BMS held stable across high-draw cuts and logged no false overcurrent trips during normal trigger operation.
  • Break-in procedure for drill and saw use: On first use, run the tool at half load for two cycles before full torque or full-depth cuts. This allows the BMS to profile the motor inrush current draw and set overcurrent thresholds before you hit peak demand.

BMS cutoff on motor-start inrush surge during trigger pull

When you pull the trigger on a drill or saw, the motor draws a brief inrush current that can be three to five times the running load. On a new pack, the BMS has no prior cycle history to calibrate its overcurrent threshold against. If the threshold is set too conservatively from the factory, the BMS trips and cuts power before the motor reaches speed. Running two half-load break-in cycles lets the BMS log real inrush data and adjust its trip point accordingly.

Charger shows blinking red and never accepts the new pack

AEG 18V chargers reject packs where cell voltage has dropped below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell — during storage. The charger reads the low voltage as a damaged or deeply discharged pack and refuses to start a full charge cycle. To recover the pack, some AEG chargers have a wake-up or recovery mode — consult your charger manual for the recovery sequence, or look for a dedicated recondition button. If no recovery mode is available, verify cell voltage with a multimeter; a reading above 2.5V per cell means the charger itself may need a firmware update.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AEG BKS 18 circular saw cuts out the moment I start a heavy rip cut — is the battery tripping?

Yes — that's a BMS overcurrent trip caused by sustained high-draw load on top of the motor-start inrush spike. The BMS sees the combined current exceed its threshold and shuts the output rail to protect the cells. Run two half-load cycles first to let the BMS calibrate its trip point against real motor data. After break-in, the cutout during heavy rips should stop.

The drill feels sluggish and bogs down under hard fastening loads even with a fully charged pack — what's happening?

That's voltage sag — under high torque, cell internal resistance causes the rail voltage to drop, and the tool loses power before the BMS trips. Check that the battery slide contacts on both the pack and the tool are clean and fully seating; even a thin layer of dust raises contact resistance and worsens sag. If contacts are clean, the issue is the cells themselves underperforming under load — a new 6000mAh pack at full charge should hold the rail voltage steady through standard fastening applications.

The AEG BFL 18 drill barely runs after sitting in the garage all winter — can the battery recover?

Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, and a pack stored cold over winter may also have self-discharged to near the BMS lockout threshold. Bring the pack to room temperature for at least two hours before attempting to charge — do not charge a cold pack directly. Once at room temperature, place it on the charger; if the charger accepts it, run a full charge cycle to 18V before use.
