Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel 7 / OT-6062 Series — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLP038C1)
This is a 3.85V, 3900mAh Li-Polymer cell built to the TLP038C1 specification. It fits the Alcatel 7, 7 LTE, OT-6062W, and OT-6062 smartphones. Swap it in when the original cell can no longer hold a charge through a normal day of use.
- OT-6062 platform compatibility: The 7, 7 LTE, OT-6062W, and OT-6062 share the same battery bay dimensions and connector pinout. All four models accept the TLP038C1 footprint — 87.80 × 60.40 × 4.12mm — and draw from the same 3.85V nominal voltage rail. No adapter or modification needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the OT-6062 platform. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, reported charging current correctly, and triggered the charge-complete cutoff at the expected full-cell voltage without error flags.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before enabling fast charging. The Alcatel 7's fuel gauge IC uses a coulomb counter calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one full cycle resets it against the new cell's actual capacity.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Alcatel 7 after a cell swap
A new Li-Polymer cell has a steeper voltage cliff in the lower charge range than a worn cell. The Alcatel 7's power management IC is still reading cutoff thresholds mapped to the old, degraded cell. When the modem fires a burst transmission or the screen peaks in brightness, the voltage dips below the IC's hard cutoff before the fuel gauge reaches 0%. One complete calibration cycle — full drain to auto-shutdown, then uninterrupted charge to 100% — realigns the IC's cutoff map to the new cell's discharge curve and eliminates the premature shutdown.
Device won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage. If the TLP038C1 arrived or sat installed below roughly 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout to prevent cell damage. The phone will show no response to the power button. Connect a charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC needs to push a small trickle current to bring the cell above the BMS re-enable threshold before the device will attempt to boot. If the charging indicator appears, the cell is recovering; allow it to reach at least 3.0V before powering on.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Alcatel 7 show the wrong battery percentage after fitting the new TLP038C1 cell?
The fuel gauge IC on the OT-6062 platform uses a coulomb counter that was calibrated against the discharge curve of the original, degraded cell. A fresh 3900mAh cell has a different voltage slope across its charge range, so the IC misreads state of charge until it has a reference cycle to work from. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge straight to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the fuel gauge recalibrates against the new cell and percentage readings stabilise.
Fast charging stopped working on my Alcatel 7 the first time I plugged it in after the battery replacement — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong. On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC runs a verification pass before it hands control to the fast-charge protocol. Until that pass completes, it defaults to standard 5V charging as a precaution with an uncalibrated cell. Plug in, let the first charge run to 100% at whatever rate it accepts, then unplug and replug — the IC will recognise the cell on the second connection and re-enable the faster charge rate.
The Alcatel 7 feels warm near the battery while charging the new cell — is that normal?
A fresh Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. The charge IC pushes current into a cell that resists it more than usual, and that resistance converts to heat. Mild warmth during the first two or three charge cycles is expected and reduces as the cell breaks in. If the device becomes hot to the touch or shows a temperature warning, stop charging and let it cool to room temperature before reconnecting — then check that the cell is seated flat with no pressure on the connector.
