Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MeiZu M8C / M810H — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BA810)
This is a 3.85V, 3000mAh (11.55Wh) lithium-polymer cell that replaces the original BA810 battery in the MeiZu M8C and M810H smartphones. It powers the processor, display, cellular radio, and all onboard functions. Fit this cell when the original no longer holds a charge or the phone shuts off unexpectedly under load.
- M8C and M810H compatibility: Both models run the same 3.85V battery rail, share the BA810 connector pinout, and use the same BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the M8C platform, confirmed BMS communication, and verified the charge IC accepted the cell without triggering a fault state at full current.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Disable fast charging in settings for the first complete discharge-charge cycle after installation. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated coulomb counter.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens because the fuel gauge IC still uses the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. The new cell's voltage drops faster than the IC expects under modem or screen load, so the system reads a false low-voltage condition and shuts down before the actual charge is depleted. Run one full discharge to 0% and a complete charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates and the shutdowns stop. If they continue past two cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a loose pin causes intermittent voltage sag under load.
USB fast charge not accepted after cell replacement
On the first cycle after fitting a new cell, the charge IC may not handshake with the phone's proprietary fast-charge protocol — it falls back to standard 5V charging instead. This is a BMS initialisation behaviour on a fresh cell, not a fault with the battery or charger. Let the phone complete one full charge at standard rate. On the second and subsequent cycles, the protocol handshake completes normally and fast charging resumes. If fast charging still does not engage after two full cycles, test with a known-good fast-charge cable, as cable resistance can also block protocol negotiation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my MeiZu M8C showing the wrong battery percentage after fitting the new BA810 cell?
The fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the discharge curve of your old, worn-out cell — it has no data yet for the new BA810. Let the phone discharge completely until it shuts off on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single full cycle gives the coulomb counter enough data to remap the percentage readout accurately. Erratic percentage jumps should stop after that one cycle.
The phone feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is something wrong?
A fresh lithium-polymer cell starts with slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. The charge IC pushes current into that higher-impedance cell and generates a small amount of additional heat during the first few charge cycles. This is normal and reduces as the cell breaks in over three to five cycles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch — above 45°C — stop charging and check that the battery connector is fully and evenly seated, as a misaligned pin raises contact resistance and amplifies heat.
My MeiZu M8C won't power on at all after the battery sat unused for several months — is the new cell dead?
A lithium-polymer cell that discharges below approximately 2.5V in storage triggers a BMS lockout to prevent damage — the phone won't respond to the power button because the BMS has cut the output circuit. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 3.0V, at which point the BMS re-initialises and the phone will power on normally.
