Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel OT-800 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CAB3CP000CA1)
This 3.7V, 800mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Alcatel OT-800, OT-800A, Tribe, and VM800, along with 24 additional compatible models. It is a direct fit for owners keeping these compact candybar-style phones in service. Capacity is rated at 2.96Wh, matching the original cell specification.
- OT-800 series fit: The OT-800, OT-800A, Tribe, and VM800 all share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. One cell covers the full group without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the OT-800 platform. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake on the first connection and held the voltage curve within spec through a full discharge.
- Fuel gauge recalibration tip: On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle before relying on the percentage readout. The fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one full cycle lets it remap against the new cell and return accurate readings.
Why the OT-800 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The OT-800 uses a fuel gauge IC that tracks capacity by mapping voltage against a stored discharge curve from the original cell. A new cell has a slightly different internal resistance and discharge profile. Until the IC sees one complete cycle with the new cell, it reads percentage against the old map. This causes the display to jump, stall, or read 100% while the phone is still near full charge — not a fault in the battery itself.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under load — typically during a screen-on burst or a background process spike. The phone's protection circuit cuts power to prevent going below the BMS floor, which is usually around 3.0V under load. The percentage shown on screen doesn't account for that voltage cliff, so the shutdown looks premature. Run a full discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its low-voltage threshold mapping against the new cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
The OT-800 shows 35% battery and then just shuts off — is the new cell faulty?
It is not a faulty cell. Under load — screen brightness, a call, or a background sync — the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC expects based on its stored discharge map. When voltage hits the BMS floor (around 3.0V under load), the phone cuts power instantly, even though the percentage display still showed capacity remaining. Run one full discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. That single cycle recalibrates the IC against the new cell's actual voltage curve.
The battery percentage on the OT-800 is jumping around erratically after fitting the replacement — what is happening?
The fuel gauge IC inside the OT-800 was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. A new cell has different internal impedance, so the IC is reading voltage against the wrong map. The result is percentage values that jump, stall at a number for too long, or drop suddenly. This resolves after one complete discharge-charge cycle — discharge until the phone shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100%.
The OT-800 will not power on after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for several months — how do I recover it?
When a Li-ion cell sits discharged for an extended period, its voltage can drop below 2.5V per cell. At that point the BMS locks the cell out to prevent damage, and the phone shows nothing when you press the power button. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC on most OT-800 units will apply a trickle current to bring the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, after which normal charging resumes. If the screen still shows nothing after 45 minutes on the wall charger, check the charger output is reaching 5V at the connector.
