Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel Touch Pop 4S / One Touch Pop 4S LTE — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLp029B1)
This 3.85V, 2950mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the OEM battery in the Alcatel Touch Pop 4S and One Touch Pop 4S LTE. It covers OT-5095 and OT-5095Y variants, along with additional OT-5095 sub-models. OEM part numbers TLp029B1 and TLp029B2 both cross-reference to this cell.
- OT-5095 series compatibility: The OT-5095 line shares a single battery bay spec — same connector pitch, same 3.85V nominal rail, and the same BMS handshake used across Touch Pop 4S variants. One cell fits all models in this cluster without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on an OT-5095 unit. The BMS accepted charge without fault flags, the fuel gauge IC tracked state-of-charge without erratic jumps, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC a full sweep of the new cell's discharge curve before the coulomb counter locks in its reference points.
Why the OT-5095 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The OT-5095 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its charge-remaining model against the original cell's discharge curve. When you swap the cell, the IC still references that old curve. The result is percentage readings that lag reality — often showing 30–40% when the phone is close to shutdown. One full discharge-charge cycle without interruption forces the IC to re-map against the new cell's actual voltage profile. After that cycle, percentage reporting stabilises.
Sudden shutdown at 20–25% on the replacement cell
This happens when the modem or display pulls a current spike that the cell cannot sustain at that state of charge — voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold instantly, and the phone shuts off. It is not a faulty battery; it is the fuel gauge IC reporting a state-of-charge that is higher than the cell's actual deliverable capacity at load. The fix is the same recalibration cycle: one full discharge to auto-shutdown and a full uninterrupted charge. If shutdown still occurs after two full cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partial connection raises contact resistance and amplifies voltage sag under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Alcatel Touch Pop 4S won't turn on after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?
Likely not dead — just in BMS lockout. Li-Polymer cells that self-discharge below roughly 2.5V trigger the protection circuit, which blocks output to prevent cell damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger (not a USB port) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage recovers above the BMS re-enable threshold, after which the phone will boot normally.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I charged the replacement battery — the phone just slow-charges now.
This is normal on the first cycle with a new cell. The USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake between the charge IC and the new BMS sometimes does not complete until the cell has been through one standard charge cycle. Charge the phone fully on a standard 5V supply, discharge it to auto-shutdown, then charge again on your fast charger. The fast-charge protocol should negotiate correctly from the second cycle onward.
The phone feels noticeably warm near the battery while charging the new cell — is something wrong?
A new high-impedance Li-Polymer cell generates more heat during initial charging than a broken-in cell does. The charge IC pushes current into a cell that has not yet settled to its in-use impedance, and that resistance gap produces heat. It should reduce after two or three full charge cycles. If the back of the phone becomes too hot to hold comfortably — above roughly 45°C — disconnect and let it cool before resuming; that level of heat indicates a charge IC fault or a connector seating issue, not normal break-in behaviour.
