Fits Vodafone Smart Ultra 7 and VFD 700 models, replacing OEM battery TLp029B1 or TLp029B2.
3.85V Li-Polymer cell at 2950mAh capacity delivers 11.36Wh — enough to restore full daily runtime on this mid-range handset.
Connector type is proprietary Vodafone contact strip with fixed orientation; no locking tab, slides straight into the factory slot.
We bench-cycled the cell on a simulator load bank; the BMS engaged at 3.0V floor, coulomb counter tracked discharge curve linearly with no early cutoff.
On first use, complete one full discharge-to-shutdown and recharge cycle without plugging in any fast charger — this resets the fuel gauge IC against the new cell's actual discharge profile before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vodafone Smart Ultra 7 / VFD 700 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLp029B1)

This is a 3.85V, 2950mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Vodafone Smart Ultra 7 and VFD 700 smartphones. It replaces OEM part numbers TLp029B1 and TLp029B2. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a charge through a normal day of use.

  • Smart Ultra 7 and VFD 700 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — 107.10 × 45.80 × 3.60mm cell with a matched voltage rail at 3.85V nominal.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full discharge and recharge on a VFD 700 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC stepped through CC/CV phases cleanly with no thermal interruption.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. Under peak load — active LTE modem, screen at full brightness, GPS running — the cell voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. The fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's internal resistance curve and hasn't yet learned where the new cell's voltage floor actually sits. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a complete charge corrects the mapping. After that cycle, reported percentage and actual cutoff should align within a few percent.

Phone warm near the battery during the first few charges

A fresh Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. The charge IC delivers the same current it would to a seasoned cell, and the higher resistance converts more of that energy to heat during the first two or three cycles. This is normal and self-limiting — impedance drops as the cell forms. If the phone stays warm beyond the third full charge cycle, check that the back cover is seated correctly and not trapping heat against the cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Vodafone Smart Ultra 7 keeps shutting off at around 25% after fitting the new battery — is something wrong with it?

Nothing is wrong with the cell itself. The fuel gauge IC is still running on the discharge curve it learned from your old, high-impedance battery, so it misreads the voltage cliff on the new cell. Run one full discharge — let the phone shut itself down — then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. After that single calibration cycle, the coulomb counter will remap to the new cell and the early shutdowns should stop.

The OS percentage is jumping around erratically after I installed the replacement battery — it went from 60% to 41% in two minutes without me doing anything.

That's the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an unfamiliar cell. The Smart Ultra 7's fuel gauge uses a learned model of the original cell's voltage-to-capacity curve; swap the cell and that model is temporarily wrong. Erratic percentage readings are the IC trying to reconcile measured voltage with its stored curve. Complete one slow, uninterrupted charge from near-zero to 100% with fast charging off — this forces the IC to rewrite its reference curve against the new cell, and the percentage display will stabilise.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my VFD 700 — the phone is only trickle charging now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the VFD 700 often defaults to a low-current safety profile because the BMS hasn't yet confirmed the new cell's temperature and impedance are within the fast-charge acceptance window. Charge the phone fully at the slow rate, let it sit at 100% for five minutes, then disconnect and reconnect the charger. That handshake cycle is usually enough for the BMS to clear the caution flag and re-enable the higher charge rate on the next session.
