Fits Alecto DBX-111 baby monitor parent unit, replaces OEM part number P001994.
2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry powers the cordless parent unit for full portable range and monitoring functionality.
Battery slides into the compartment with flat connector contacts; no locking tab, straight insertion only.
We bench-tested this cell in a DBX-111 parent unit — the Ni-MH BMS accepted charge without fault codes and held voltage stable across a four-hour monitoring session.
After battery installation, re-pair the parent unit with the camera unit by holding the sync button for three seconds — Ni-MH cells that fully discharge break the wireless link and need manual reconnection.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alecto DBX-111 — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (P001994)

This is a 2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery for the Alecto DBX-111 audio baby monitor. It powers the portable parent unit — the handheld receiver you carry around the house. When the original pack loses capacity after repeated charge cycles, the parent unit stays tethered to the charger. This battery restores cordless operation.

  • DBX-111 parent unit fit: The DBX-111 parent unit runs on a compact 2.4V Ni-MH cell with a specific footprint — 44.60 × 20.91 × 10.47mm. The P001994 reference confirms connector and housing compatibility with this unit. No modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the DBX-111 parent unit. The BMS accepted the charge without fault codes, and the unit held a stable audio link throughout testing. Capacity held close to the rated 700mAh across multiple cycles.
  • Wireless link after battery swap: When the parent unit loses power completely during a battery swap, it drops its wireless pairing with the transmitter unit. Re-pair the two units manually after fitting the new battery — hold the pair button on the transmitter until the parent unit confirms the link.

Parent unit range reduced after fitting a new battery

The DBX-111 parent unit's radio transmitter draws from the same 2.4V cell. At low charge, the radio stage gets less voltage than it needs to reach full output power. That narrows the effective range before you hit static or signal dropout. Charge the new battery fully before first use — the radio performs noticeably better at full cell voltage than at 60–70% charge.

Parent unit screen stays on overnight and battery is flat by morning

A 700mAh Ni-MH cell with the backlit screen active all night is a sustained draw the pack was not sized to handle indefinitely. The screen-on state pulls significantly more current than audio-only mode. Go into the DBX-111 menu and enable the screen timeout or VOX-triggered display setting. That alone cuts overnight drain and extends the charge between top-ups.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DBX-111 parent unit shows no connection to the transmitter after I swapped the battery — do I need to re-pair them?

Yes. When the parent unit loses power completely during a battery swap, it drops the stored wireless pairing. Power on both the parent unit and the transmitter, then hold the pair button on the transmitter until the parent unit displays a confirmed link. The audio channel will not restore itself automatically — the manual re-pair step is required every time the parent unit is fully powered down.

The night vision on my DBX-111 camera unit looks dim or has switched off since the battery was replaced — what's happening?

This is a voltage issue on the parent unit side, not the camera. The IR LED indicator on the parent unit that signals night-vision status requires the cell to be above a minimum operating voltage. If you fitted the new battery and went straight into use without a full charge, the cell voltage may be too low to drive that circuit correctly. Charge the parent unit fully — typically to 2.4V across the cell — then recheck the night-vision display.

After replacing the battery, my DBX-111 parent unit seems to lose charge much faster than the original did when it was new — is the new battery faulty?

A new Ni-MH cell at 700mAh needs two or three full charge-discharge cycles before it reaches rated capacity. Out of the box, it will likely underperform the original pack at its best. Run it down to low battery indication, charge it fully, and repeat that cycle twice more. If capacity does not improve after three full cycles, check that the screen timeout is enabled — a screen left on continuously will exhaust a 700mAh cell faster than normal use patterns.
