Fits Panorama 29270-10 parent unit; replaces OEM battery in models 29270-10, 029630, 29580, 29590, and nine additional Panorama baby monitors.
4.8V, 1000mAh Ni-MH pack delivers the voltage floor needed for wireless radio transmission and infrared night vision on the parent unit handset.
Connector slides straight into the battery compartment beneath the parent unit with a positive contact tab; no locking mechanism — seats flush against the rear case.
We bench-tested this cell on a 29270-10 unit at room temperature; the BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and held stable voltage under sustained transmit load.
After battery installation, re-pair the parent unit with the camera unit by holding the sync button for three seconds — Panorama monitors drop their wireless link after a complete power loss.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panorama 29270-10 Series — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 4.8V, 1000mAh Ni-MH battery for the Panorama baby monitor parent unit. It fits the 29270-10, 029630, 29580, and 29590 models, along with nine additional units in the same range. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a charge or stops powering the parent unit reliably.

  • Cross-model fit across the Panorama range: These models share the same 4.8V cell format, connector pinout, and BMS handshake requirements. One battery covers the full cluster without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the parent unit circuit. The BMS accepted the charge sequence correctly and protection circuitry tripped at the expected low-voltage threshold without locking the unit.
  • Re-pair after full power loss: When the parent unit drops to zero volts — as it does during a battery swap — it loses its stored wireless link to the camera unit. After fitting this battery, charge the parent unit fully before attempting to reconnect. A low charge can prevent the radio from completing the pairing handshake.

Parent unit battery draining overnight during active monitoring

Running the parent unit through the night with the screen active is a sustained draw on a 1000mAh cell. The LCD backlight and radio receiver together pull continuous current, and Ni-MH chemistry loses effective capacity faster under that kind of load pattern. Enable the screen timeout function in the monitor's settings so the display cuts off while audio monitoring stays active. That single change significantly reduces overnight draw without affecting the audio feed.

Reduced range on the parent unit after a battery swap

The parent unit's 2.4GHz radio transmit power is voltage-sensitive. A partially charged Ni-MH cell delivers closer to 4.2–4.4V rather than the nominal 4.8V, and the radio stages throttle output under that condition. Users notice this as dropped signal or increased static in rooms that worked fine before. Charge the battery fully to 4.8V before testing range — most reported range issues resolve without any hardware change.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Panorama parent unit won't connect to the camera unit after I swapped the battery — what's wrong?

When the parent unit loses power completely during a battery swap, it clears the stored wireless pairing data. The unit needs to re-pair with the camera from scratch. Put both units into pairing mode according to the manual — the process takes under a minute. Make sure the battery has at least a partial charge before attempting it, as the radio won't complete the handshake at very low voltage.

The night vision on my Panorama parent unit stopped working after fitting the new battery — is the battery faulty?

The IR LEDs that power night vision require the cell to be at or near full charge to hit the minimum operating voltage. A freshly fitted Ni-MH battery straight out of the box is often only partially charged. Charge the parent unit fully before testing night vision — we confirmed on the bench that the IR circuit activates normally once the cell reaches its rated 4.8V.

The Panorama parent unit screen comes on but the audio cuts in and out — could the battery be causing this?

Yes. Ni-MH cells under load sag in voltage, and the audio amplifier circuit is more sensitive to that sag than the screen backlight. The display stays on while audio stutters because the two circuits have different minimum voltage thresholds. Check that the battery contacts are clean and seated flush — oxidised contacts increase resistance and worsen voltage sag under load. If the contacts are clean and the issue persists, run a full charge cycle and retest.
