Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Amazing A1 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V 1500mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Amazing A1 smartphone. It fits the A1's battery bay and connects via the original flex connector. Capacity matches the factory specification at 5.55Wh.
- Amazing A1 fit: The A1 uses a single-cell 3.7V nominal Li-ion pack. This cell matches that voltage rail, physical dimensions (49.00 × 47.80 × 5.50mm), and connector orientation — so the BMS on the motherboard receives the handshake it expects at power-on.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the A1 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and the protection circuit tripped as expected at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installing this cell, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated reference.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Amazing A1 after a cell swap
The A1's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. A new cell has a slightly different internal resistance profile, so the voltage sag under modem and screen load hits the low-voltage cutoff before the reported percentage reaches zero. The phone cuts power abruptly at what the gauge still reads as 20–30%. One full discharge cycle — letting the phone run down to automatic shutdown, then charging uninterrupted to 100% — resets the coulomb counter reference and tightens the percentage-to-voltage mapping. After that cycle, shutdowns should align with single-digit percentages.
USB fast charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement
When a new cell is installed, the charge IC on the A1 motherboard reads elevated internal impedance on the fresh cell and may restrict current delivery, keeping the connection in standard 5V charging rather than negotiating the fast-charge protocol. This is a protective behaviour — the IC is limiting inrush until it has completed one charge profile on the new cell. Plug into a standard 5V charger (not a fast-charge adapter) for the first complete charge cycle. After that cycle, reconnect the fast charger — the IC will renegotiate the protocol and fast charging should resume normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Amazing A1 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
Probably not dead, but the BMS has locked out below 2.5V per cell after deep discharge in storage. Connect the phone to a low-current charger (a standard USB wall adapter, not a fast charger) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The BMS needs a trickle current to recover voltage above its re-enable threshold before it will allow normal charging or a power-on attempt. Once the screen shows a charging indicator, the BMS has cleared the lockout.
The battery percentage on my A1 is jumping around erratically — it reads 60%, then suddenly 45%, then back to 55% within minutes.
The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve and its coulomb counter hasn't yet built an accurate voltage-to-capacity map. This is normal in the first one to three charge cycles after a cell swap. Run the phone down to automatic shutdown, then charge it fully to 100% in one uninterrupted session — do this twice. The percentage readout should stabilise once the gauge IC has two complete reference cycles logged.
The A1 feels noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges after I installed the replacement — is that a problem?
A new high-impedance cell dissipates more heat during initial charging than a broken-in cell does, because the charge IC is pushing current into higher internal resistance. This typically settles after three to five charge cycles as the cell's impedance drops with use. If the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — stop charging and let it cool before reconnecting. After the break-in cycles, check that the back of the phone near the battery returns to the same temperature range you saw with the original cell.
