This is a 3.8V, 2500mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Amazing A6 smartphone. It fits directly into the A6 and restores power capacity lost through cell degradation over charge cycles. Capacity is 9.5Wh, matching the original cell specification.

  • Amazing A6 fit: The A6 uses a single-cell 3.8V nominal Li-ion pack with a direct connector to the charge IC on the mainboard. This cell matches that voltage rail and connector pinout. No BMS handshake mismatch was observed during installation.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran a full charge and discharge cycle through the A6's charge IC. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the fuel gauge IC began tracking state of charge normally across the full discharge window.
  • First-cycle fuel gauge recalibration: After installing this cell, disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC on the A6 calibrates its coulomb counter against the cell's discharge curve — running a slow cycle first gives it accurate data before high-current charging begins.

Why the A6 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The A6 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds a discharge model from repeated charge cycles. When the original degraded cell is replaced, the IC still holds the old cell's curve in memory. It maps voltage readings to percentage using that stale model, so the reported figure drifts from real state of charge. One full slow discharge down to auto-shutoff, followed by a complete charge to 100%, forces the IC to rewrite its reference curve against the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't yet recalibrated and the cell voltage drops sharply under modem or display load — a voltage cliff the old model didn't predict. The phone's protection circuit trips before the reported percentage reaches zero. It is not a faulty cell. Complete the first full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging, and the coulomb counter will align cutoff with the actual cell floor — typically 3.2V under load.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after fitting this battery — did I damage something?

Nothing is damaged. On the first cycle after a cell swap, some charge ICs run a qualification check before enabling high-current charging — they verify cell impedance is within range for the fast-charge protocol. A new cell often reads slightly higher impedance than a broken-in one, which can cause the IC to fall back to standard 5V charging. Plug in, let it complete one full charge at standard rate, and fast charging will typically re-enable on the next session once the IC logs the cell as stable.

The phone feels warm near the battery while charging after the replacement — is that normal?

A new cell has higher internal impedance than a cell that has completed several cycles. The charge IC on the A6 pushes the same current into that higher resistance, and the difference dissipates as heat during the first few charges. The warmth should reduce noticeably after three to five full charge cycles as impedance drops.
