Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Oppo Find 5 / X909 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLP539)

This is a 3.8V, 2500mAh (9.5Wh) lithium-polymer cell built to the BLP539 specification. It fits the Oppo Find 5, X909, and X909t smartphones. If your original battery swells, drains rapidly, or the phone shuts off before reaching zero percent, this cell replaces the failed unit directly.

  • Find 5, X909, and X909t compatibility: All three variants share the same battery bay dimensions (74.11 × 55.00 × 4.10mm), connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers the full model range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Oppo charge IC and confirmed the BMS handshake completes on first connection. Charge termination triggered correctly at 4.35V, and the protection circuit tripped as expected at the low-voltage cutoff.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle from full to empty and back. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Find 5 after a cell swap

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell hits a voltage cliff — typically around 3.5V under screen or modem load — before the OS registers low battery. The phone interprets this as a hardware fault and cuts power. One full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging resets the coulomb counter and resolves the premature shutdown in most cases.

Find 5 not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Lithium-polymer cells self-discharge in storage. If the BLP539 dropped below 2.5V per cell before installation, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks all charge current as a safety measure. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC delivers a low-current trickle that brings the cell above the 2.5V threshold, at which point the BMS resets and normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Oppo Find 5 shows the wrong battery percentage after fitting the new BLP539 — the number jumps around and doesn't match actual charge level. What's causing this?

The fuel gauge IC inside the Find 5 builds a discharge model against the old cell over hundreds of cycles. When you install a new cell, that stored model no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage curve, so the reported percentage drifts or jumps. Run one complete discharge — use the phone until it shuts off automatically — then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. After that single cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates to the new cell and the percentage reading stabilises.

Fast charging stopped working on the Find 5 after I installed the replacement battery — it only charges slowly now. Is the charger the problem?

The charger is unlikely the cause. On first connection, the Oppo charge IC negotiates a fast-charge handshake with the BMS in the new cell. If the cell voltage was low on arrival, the IC defaults to trickle mode and may not re-attempt the fast-charge negotiation automatically. Let the phone charge to above 15% on the slow rate, then disconnect and reconnect the charger — this forces a fresh handshake. If fast charging still doesn't engage, confirm you are using the original Oppo wall adapter, as third-party adapters often fail the proprietary voltage-step negotiation.

The Find 5 feels warm near the battery area during the first few charges with the new cell. Should I be concerned?

Some warmth on first charge is expected. A new high-impedance cell has slightly higher internal resistance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat during the initial cycles. The temperature should drop noticeably after two or three full charge cycles as internal resistance settles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — or the back panel bulges at any point, stop charging immediately and check that the cell is seated flat with no pressure on the connector.
