Coolpad 8150D / 8150S — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CPLD-14)

This is a 3.7V 1100mAh Li-ion cell replacing the original CPLD-14 battery in the Coolpad 8150D and 8150S smartphones. It fits both models — same connector, same footprint at 55.50 × 44.00 × 5.00mm. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds charge across a normal day of calls and messaging.

• 8150D and 8150S compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — the CPLD-14 part number covers either variant without modification.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the 8150D platform. The BMS handshake completed correctly, charge termination triggered at the expected cutoff voltage, and no thermal flags were raised during the charge cycle.
• Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC a clean reference curve against the new cell before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated counter.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Coolpad 8150D after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still reading the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. The new cell hits a voltage cliff under modem or screen load at a state-of-charge the phone thinks is 20–30%. The IC loses track of actual remaining charge and the protection circuit cuts power before the display percentage reaches zero. One full discharge-to-charge cycle rewrites the coulomb counter reference and the shutdowns stop.

Device not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode to prevent damage — the phone will not respond to the power button or show a charging indicator. Connect to a wall charger, not a USB port, and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything. Once the cell climbs back above the BMS recovery threshold, the phone will show the charging screen and boot normally.
