Fits American DJ Mirage Q6 IP moving head light; replaces OEM part Z-MIR600.
14.8V, 11000mAh capacity delivers full LED output and dimmer range on location shoots.
Female XLR connector locks downward into the fixture base; connector seated flush stops rattle.
Bench testing showed the ballast accepted the new BMS on power-up with no fault codes; LED driver held regulation across the full discharge curve.
If the fixture dims before the low-battery indicator triggers, remove and reseat the cell fully — the ballast voltage sensor requires clean contact to report accurate state-of-charge to the LED driver.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

American DJ Mirage Q6 IP — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Z-MIR600)

This is a 14.8V, 11000mAh (162.8Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the American DJ Mirage Q6 IP moving head fixture. It slots into the Mirage Q6 IP to power the fixture at mobile events, outdoor shows, and location productions where AC power is not available. Voltage and capacity match the OEM Z-MIR600 specification exactly.

  • Mirage Q6 IP power rail: The Mirage Q6 IP LED driver runs a constant-current load across a 14.8V nominal four-cell Li-ion pack. Cell count and voltage must match exactly — any deviation causes the driver to fault or reject the pack outright.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the Mirage Q6 IP's power-on sequence and full output mode. The BMS held voltage within the driver's acceptance window, and the charge circuit completed without fault codes.
  • Storage charge for location lighting: If the fixture will sit unused for more than two weeks, discharge to approximately 50% before storing. Storing a high-capacity Li-ion pack fully charged at warm venue temperatures accelerates irreversible capacity fade in the cells.

Why the Mirage Q6 IP dims before the battery indicator shows low

The LED driver in the Mirage Q6 IP draws constant current regardless of output level, so as cell voltage sags under load, the driver hits its minimum input threshold before the battery gauge registers critical. This is a voltage-sag failure, not a capacity failure — the pack still holds charge but cannot deliver it fast enough at that cell state. A worn or degraded pack shows this behaviour earlier in the discharge cycle. A new pack at full charge should maintain the driver's minimum input voltage well past the point where the gauge shows 50%.

Battery not recognised after sitting in storage

If the Mirage Q6 IP refuses to power on after the pack has been stored for an extended period, the cells have likely self-discharged below the fixture's BMS acceptance threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell, or roughly 10V pack voltage. The ballast firmware will not initialise a pack it reads as over-discharged. Connect the pack to a compatible Li-ion charger first and allow it to recover to at least 12V before reinserting it into the fixture. Once voltage is back above the acceptance floor, the fixture should recognise the pack and charge normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Mirage Q6 IP is stepping down output mid-show but the battery indicator still shows half charge — what's happening?

This is voltage sag, not low capacity. The LED driver demands constant current, and as the cells age or cool, pack voltage drops under load before the gauge catches up. The fixture's driver hits its minimum input threshold and throttles output to protect itself. Check resting pack voltage after the show — if it reads above 14V off-load but the fixture still stepped down, the cells can no longer sustain the current draw at that state of charge.

The fixture is showing a ballast fault or error code immediately after I swapped in the new battery — is the battery faulty?

This is almost always a firmware battery-check trip, not a defective pack. The ballast runs a quick handshake on power-up, and if it catches the pack mid-initialisation or detects a voltage it wasn't expecting at that instant, it throws a fault. Power the fixture off completely, wait ten seconds, then power it back on. That clears the latch in most Mirage Q6 IP units. If the fault clears on the second power cycle, the battery is fine.

Run time dropped noticeably at full output compared to what we got from the first few charges — is that normal?

High-output LED fixtures draw proportionally more current at maximum brightness, so any capacity loss hits harder at full load than at reduced output. Li-ion cells also lose usable capacity faster when routinely discharged deep at high current. Check how the pack is being stored between events — if it's sitting fully charged at room temperature or above, that alone accelerates fade. Start storing at 50% charge between shows and recheck output duration after five cycles.
