Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Apple MacBook Pro 15" i7 — 10.95V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (020-7134-01)
This 10.95V, 7070mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces part number 020-7134-01 in Apple MacBook Pro 15.4" models running 2.0GHz, 2.2GHz, and 2.3GHz Core i7 processors. It also covers the broader MacBook Pro 15" i7 lineup sharing the same connector and BMS handshake. Capacity is 77.42Wh — matched to OEM spec.
- Core i7 15.4" model compatibility: These MacBook Pro variants share the same 10.95V battery rail, identical connector pinout, and the same SMC battery handshake protocol — which is why one cell covers the full 2.0–2.3GHz i7 range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a MacBook Pro 15.4" 2.2GHz i7. The BMS communicated correctly with the SMC, charge termination triggered at the expected voltage, and the fuel gauge tracked capacity accurately after two calibration cycles.
- SMC calibration after install: After fitting a new cell, macOS inherits stale EEPROM data from the old battery. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the SMC to relearn the cell's actual capacity and clears the inaccurate battery health warning that appears after every cell swap.
Why macOS reports poor battery health immediately after replacement
The MacBook Pro's System Management Controller stores battery health data in EEPROM — it does not reset when you physically swap the cell. On first boot, the SMC reads stale cycle count and capacity data from the old battery's profile and flags the new cell as degraded. This is a firmware state issue, not a cell defect. Running the full discharge-to-hibernate-then-full-charge sequence forces the SMC battery learn cycle to overwrite that stale data with readings from the new cell.
MacBook Pro shutting down at 20–30% charge shown
When a battery cell has aged past a certain point, it cannot sustain voltage under the combined load of the Core i7 processor at full speed plus the display backlight. Voltage drops sharply — a cliff, not a slope — and the SMC triggers an emergency shutdown before the OS fuel gauge reaches zero. A new cell with intact capacity eliminates this cliff. After replacement, run the SMC calibration cycle above to ensure the fuel gauge tracks the new cell's actual discharge curve accurately from 100% down to below 10V.

Frequently Asked Questions
My MacBook Pro shows the replacement battery as "Service Recommended" or 0% on first boot — is the cell faulty?
The cell is not faulty. The SMC reads EEPROM data left over from the old battery and flags it immediately as degraded. Do a full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. After one complete learn cycle, the health warning clears and the SMC reports the correct capacity.
The battery percentage in macOS jumps around wildly for the first few days — 60% one minute, 40% the next. What causes this?
The fuel gauge IC needs calibration cycles against the new cell's actual chemistry before its readings stabilise. We saw the same behaviour on the bench — erratic readings for the first two to three full charge and discharge cycles. Run two uninterrupted full discharges to hibernate, then charge to 100% each time. After that, the fuel gauge IC locks onto the correct discharge curve and the jumping stops.
System Information shows the wrong Wh rating — it says something lower than 77.42Wh. Is this a capacity issue?
This is an EEPROM mismatch, not a physical capacity shortfall. The Wh value displayed in System Information is pulled from the battery's EEPROM register, which may carry a rated figure from a different firmware revision rather than reflecting the cell's actual chemistry. After the SMC completes its battery learn cycle — one full discharge to hibernate then a full uninterrupted charge — the reported Wh value updates to align with the new cell. Check System Information again after that cycle completes.
