Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus X450 / X450V Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (A41-X550)
This 14.4V, 2200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the A41-X550 and A41-X550A cells used across the Asus X450, X450V, X450VB, X450VC, and over 160 additional X450-series models. It restores unplugged operation to laptops where the original cell no longer holds charge or has failed entirely. Voltage, connector, and physical dimensions match the OEM specification.
- X450 series compatibility: All models in this line share the same 14.4V rail, four-cell configuration, and A41-X550 connector pinout. The BMS handshake protocol is identical across the X450V, X450VB, and X450VC variants, so one cell covers the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on X450-series hardware. The BMS accepted the new cell without rejection events, charge termination triggered cleanly at full voltage, and protection cutoffs activated correctly at the low-voltage threshold.
- Post-install calibration on X450 models: After fitting, run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff on battery only — no AC during the discharge. Then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on X450 hardware.
Why the X450 BIOS flags a new battery as poor health immediately after swap
The X450 BIOS stores learned capacity data in EEPROM tied to the previous cell. When a new cell goes in, the BIOS compares actual readings against that stale data and flags a mismatch as degraded health. This is a firmware read error, not a fault with the replacement cell. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the BIOS to rewrite its learned values against the new cell's actual capacity curve.
X450 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's discharge curve. The percentage shown is based on old EEPROM data, so the reported figure and the actual remaining cell voltage diverge sharply under load — CPU plus display draw pulls the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff while the gauge still reads 20–30%. Two to three full discharge-and-charge cycles recalibrate the fuel gauge IC and bring the on-screen percentage in line with actual cell state. After calibration, the laptop should reach a stable cutoff near 10–12% shown, not a sudden shutdown in the 20–30% range.

Frequently Asked Questions
Windows shows the new battery as 0% and won't charge — is the cell dead on arrival?
This is almost always a stale EEPROM read from the previous cell, not a dead cell. The X450 BIOS holds capacity data from the old battery and can report 0% or "unknown" until it re-learns the new cell. Plug in AC, leave the laptop on charge for at least 30 minutes without interrupting it, then check again. If the percentage still shows 0%, power cycle the laptop with AC connected and allow the BIOS to re-detect the battery on boot.
The battery info screen shows 31Wh but my old battery was rated higher — did I get the wrong cell?
The Wh figure shown in system info is read from the cell's EEPROM, which stores the rated chemistry value of 31.68Wh for this A41-X550 cell. If your previous battery was a higher-capacity aftermarket cell, it would have carried a different EEPROM value — the hardware is the same, the stored rating differs. This is an EEPROM data difference, not a compatibility mismatch. Confirm the part number printed on the cell matches A41-X550 or A41-X550A and the connector seats fully — those are the two checks that matter.
Charge stops at 80% and won't go higher after the replacement — what's blocking it?
The X450 BIOS includes a firmware-controlled charge limit that caps charging at 80% when a battery health or conservation mode setting is active. This is a BIOS setting, not a fault with the replacement cell. Go into the Asus Battery Health Charging utility or the BIOS power settings and switch the charge mode from "Balanced" or "Maximum Lifespan" to "Full Capacity." After saving and rebooting, charging should continue through to 100%.
