Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Archos 35b Titanium — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AC35BTI)
This is a 3.7V, 1600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Archos 35b Titanium and 35b Titanium Dual SIM smartphones. It replaces OEM part AC35BTI and fits the original battery bay without modification. Capacity is 5.92Wh — matching the factory specification in the product data.
- 35b Titanium and Dual SIM compatibility: Both variants share the same battery bay dimensions (64.60 x 44.00 x 5.10 mm), the same 3.7V nominal voltage rail, and the same connector pinout. One cell fits both models without adapter or wiring change.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full charge and discharge on the 35b Titanium platform. The BMS accepted the charge current without interruption and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After fitting this replacement, run one complete discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. The Archos fuel gauge IC calibrates its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve during that first full cycle — skipping it causes percentage drift from the first day.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the 35b Titanium after a cell swap
The Archos 35b Titanium fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the original cell's internal resistance curve. A new cell has a different voltage-under-load profile, so the gauge misjudges remaining capacity. When the modem fires up for a call or the screen hits full brightness, current draw spikes and the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold — even though the reported percentage still shows 20–30%. The fix is one full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle, which forces the coulomb counter to remap against the new cell.
Device not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-ion cells that have discharged below approximately 2.5V in storage trigger a BMS lockout to prevent damage during charge recovery. The 35b Titanium may show no response at all — no boot, no charging indicator — when this lockout is active. Connect the phone to a wall charger and leave it for 15–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 2.9V, at which point the phone will show a charging screen and boot normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Archos 35b Titanium shows 25% battery then shuts off immediately — is the new cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the 35b Titanium is still using the discharge curve it mapped to the old, degraded cell — so its percentage reading is wrong, not the cell's actual charge level. Under any real load (modem, display backlight), the voltage drops below the BMS cutoff before the gauge reaches 0%. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the coulomb counter will remap to the new cell. After that cycle, the shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage on my 35b Titanium jumps around erratically after I fitted the replacement — sometimes it gains 10% without charging.
Erratic percentage jumps are a fuel gauge IC recalibration symptom, not a cell defect. The coulomb counter is interpolating against an outdated internal resistance model that no longer matches the new cell's chemistry profile. Each reading gets cross-checked against a voltage lookup table calibrated to the old cell, producing nonsense output. Do one full uninterrupted discharge-to-shutdown followed by a complete charge to 100% — this resets the reference table and the jumping stops.
My 35b Titanium gets noticeably warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — should I stop charging?
Mild warmth on the first few charge cycles is normal with a new high-impedance cell. The charge IC on the 35b Titanium pushes a constant current into the cell, and a fresh cell's internal resistance is slightly higher than a broken-in one, so more energy converts to heat during that phase. If the phone is hot to the touch — not just warm — remove it from charge and let it cool before reconnecting. For the first cycle, charge at room temperature away from direct sunlight and avoid using the phone simultaneously; that keeps charge IC heat and processor heat from stacking.
