Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hisense D2-M — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (LP38230)
This is a 3.8V, 2300mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Hisense D2-M smartphone. It carries OEM part number LP38230 and matches the original cell's physical footprint at 72.50 x 49.45 x 4.00mm. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge or fails to power the phone through a normal day.
- D2-M fit confirmation: The D2-M uses a 3.8V nominal Li-Polymer cell on a shared voltage rail with the charge IC and fuel gauge IC. This replacement matches that rail, the connector pinout, and the BMS handshake the phone's charge controller expects.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, confirmed BMS communication with the charge IC, verified cutoff behaviour at low voltage, and checked that the protection circuit trips correctly on overcurrent.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the coulomb counter starts reporting percentage to the OS.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Hisense D2-M after a cell swap
The D2-M's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve data from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the coulomb counter is still calibrated to the old cell's voltage-to-capacity relationship. Under modem or screen load, the new cell hits a voltage cliff the fuel gauge doesn't recognise — the phone reads 25% but the cell is actually near cutoff voltage. One complete slow discharge-charge cycle forces the IC to relearn the curve and eliminates the premature shutdown.
Phone won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge during storage. If the LP38230 cell shipped or sat long enough to drop below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks all charge current to prevent unsafe recovery. The phone shows nothing — no charging animation, no response. Connect the phone to a wall adapter rated at 5V/1A or higher and leave it for 20–30 minutes without interruption; most charge ICs include a trickle pre-charge stage that will slowly bring the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold. If the phone still shows no response after that window, check the cable and adapter before assuming cell failure.

Frequently Asked Questions
The D2-M percentage jumps around after I put in the new battery — is something wrong with the replacement?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC on the D2-M is still using the discharge curve it mapped to the old battery. Until it recalibrates, the coulomb counter reports inaccurate percentages, which shows up as erratic jumps. Run one full discharge down to auto-shutdown and one full charge at standard rate — the IC resets its curve against the new cell and the percentage stabilises.
Fast charging stopped working on my D2-M after I replaced the battery — it only trickle charges now.
On the first cycle with a new cell, the charge IC on the D2-M may not immediately negotiate the fast-charge protocol if the BMS on the replacement cell hasn't completed its initialisation handshake. This is normal behaviour. Complete one full charge at the slow rate, let the phone sit at 100% for five minutes, then disconnect and reconnect to a fast-charge-capable adapter — the protocol negotiation typically succeeds on the second cycle.
My D2-M gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges with the new cell — is that normal?
A new Li-Polymer cell starts with higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. During the first few charge cycles, the charge IC pushes current into a cell that hasn't yet reached its minimum impedance, which produces more heat than usual. The warmth should reduce noticeably after three to five full cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — or you smell anything unusual, stop charging and inspect the installation for connector seating issues.
