Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG G5 Mini / X5 Series — 3.85V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-42D1FA)
This is a 3.85V, 2800mAh Li-ion cell built to the BL-42D1FA spec. It fits the LG G5 Mini, F770S, X5, and X5 4G LTE. Swap it when the original cell can no longer hold voltage under screen or modem load.
- G5 Mini / X5 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The BL-42D1FA is the single OEM part number across this platform — one cell covers all listed variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the G5 Mini mainboard. The BMS accepted the new cell, coulomb counter initialised on first boot, and charge termination triggered correctly at full voltage.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before fast-charge current is applied to an uncalibrated cell — preventing early percentage errors.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. When the modem transmits or the screen peaks brightness, current draw spikes and the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge expects. On a new, uncalibrated cell, the OS still reads 25% while the actual terminal voltage has already crossed the BMS low-voltage cutoff threshold. One full discharge-charge cycle lets the coulomb counter recalibrate against the real discharge curve of the new cell. After that cycle, the percentage readout tracks actual cell voltage accurately and early shutdowns stop.
Phone not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-ion cells in storage self-discharge slowly. If the cell drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks charge current to prevent damage. The phone will show nothing — no charging indicator, no boot screen. Connect to a wall adapter rated at 5V/1A or higher and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons. The charge IC applies a trickle recovery current that brings the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold, after which normal charging resumes. If the device still shows no response after 30 minutes, check the charging cable and port for continuity before replacing the cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
My LG G5 Mini shows 25% battery then shuts down without warning — is the new cell faulty?
The cell is most likely fine. This is a fuel gauge calibration issue — the coulomb counter inside the phone was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, not the new one. Under a modem or screen load spike, the terminal voltage drops below the BMS cutoff while the OS still reads 25%. Run one complete discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the phone. That single cycle recalibrates the fuel gauge IC against the new cell and stops the premature shutdowns.
Fast charging stopped working on my LG G5 Mini after fitting the replacement battery — what happened?
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the phone's charge IC may not negotiate the fast-charge protocol with the new BMS. This is normal — the handshake between the USB-PD or proprietary charge controller and the new cell's BMS sometimes requires one standard charge cycle to establish. Charge once from a 5V/1A standard wall adapter to 100%, then try your fast charger again. If fast charging still does not activate after that cycle, test with the original fast-charge cable, as cable resistance can prevent protocol negotiation.
The battery percentage on my LG G5 Mini jumps erratically — for example, from 60% to 45% in seconds — after the swap.
Erratic percentage jumps after a cell replacement mean the fuel gauge IC is still referencing the old cell's stored discharge table. The coulomb counter has not yet built an accurate model of how quickly the new cell loses voltage at each charge state. Perform one full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle with the screen brightness set to maximum to force a higher current draw — this gives the IC a clear discharge profile to map. After the cycle completes, percentage readings stabilise and jumps of more than 2–3% between readings should stop.
