Fits Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe and ZE551ML; replaces OEM part C11P1424.
Outputs 3.85V at 2900mAh capacity; powers the processor, display, and modem without throttling.
Connector seats flush into the internal battery slot with no physical modification required.
We ran three full charge-discharge cycles on a ZE551ML test unit; the fuel gauge IC showed expected voltage sag under peak load by cycle two.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the coulomb counter recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe / ZE551ML — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (C11P1424)

This is a 3.85V, 2900mAh (11.17Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe and related ZE551ML and ZE550ML models. It fits the internal battery slot directly and connects to the same charge management circuit as the original C11P1424 and C11P1423 cells. The fixed internal design means the phone is non-functional once the original cell degrades past usable capacity.

  • ZE551ML / ZE550ML platform fit: Both models share the same PCB footprint, connector pinout, and fuel gauge IC handshake. The 77.00 × 53.00 × 4.50mm cell matches the original cavity dimensions and connects to the same coulomb counter without triggering a BMS mismatch error.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on ZE551ML hardware. The BMS accepted charge current without cutoff, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state-of-charge without erratic jumps after the first complete calibration cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC recalibrates its discharge curve model against the new cell before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Zenfone 2 after a cell swap

The ZE551ML's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. When the new cell voltage drops under modem or screen load, the IC misreads the state-of-charge and reports a false percentage until the voltage cliff forces an emergency cutoff. This appears as a sudden shutdown while the percentage still reads 20–30%. One full uninterrupted discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full charge resets the coulomb counter against the new cell's actual curve.

USB charging not starting after the phone sat discharged in storage

If the cell drops below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS enters lockout mode and the phone will not respond to a standard USB connection. The charge IC requires a trickle pre-charge current to bring the cell above the lockout threshold before normal charging resumes. Connect the phone to a wall adapter — not a PC USB port — and leave it undisturbed for 20–30 minutes without expecting any screen response. Once the cell clears roughly 3.0V, the BMS releases the lockout and charging proceeds normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Zenfone 2 shuts off at around 25% battery — is something wrong with the replacement cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell itself. The fuel gauge IC on the ZE551ML was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, and the new cell's voltage drop under load hits a cliff the IC doesn't expect, triggering an emergency cutoff while still showing charge remaining. Run one full uninterrupted discharge to shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single calibration cycle, the coulomb counter maps correctly to the new cell and the premature shutdowns stop.

The Zenfone 2 battery percentage keeps jumping around erratically after I installed this battery — what's causing it?

The fuel gauge IC is still using learned data from the old degraded cell and is misreading the new cell's state-of-charge in real time. It hasn't yet established a voltage-to-capacity relationship for the fresh cell. Let the phone discharge fully to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this forces the IC to rewrite its reference model against the actual new cell curve. Percentage readings stabilise after one or two complete cycles.

Fast charging stopped working on my ZE551ML after fitting the replacement battery — is there a fix?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC can refuse to negotiate fast charge protocols until it has baseline data on the new cell's impedance. This is normal BMS behaviour on Li-Polymer cells with a fresh internal resistance profile. Run one full charge at standard speed — plug into a standard 5V wall adapter rather than a fast charger. After that first cycle completes, reconnect the fast charger and the protocol negotiation resumes normally.
