Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus Zenfone Max ZC550KL — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (C11P1508)
This is a 3.8V, 5000mAh Li-Polymer cell for the Asus Zenfone Max, covering ZC550KL, Z010D, and Z010AD variants. It replaces OEM part C11P1508 directly on the logic board connector. Capacity figures come from the product data, not third-party sources.
- ZC550KL / Z010D / Z010AD platform fit: These variants share the same 3.8V battery rail, physical footprint, and flex connector pinout. The BMS handshake on each model reads cell voltage and temperature from the same two-wire interface, so the replacement cell communicates without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge-discharge cycle on a ZC550KL unit. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, charge current ramped normally through CC to CV phase, and no fault codes were logged in the battery stats partition.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC build an accurate discharge curve for the new cell before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state register.
Why the Zenfone Max reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Zenfone Max uses a coulomb-counter fuel gauge IC that stores learned discharge curve data from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC still references the old curve, so percentage readings drift — often showing full charge or dropping suddenly. The fix is one full uninterrupted discharge down to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the IC resets its reference points against the actual cell behaviour.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet mapped the new cell's voltage cliff — the point where cell voltage collapses rapidly under modem or display load. The phone cuts power to protect the cell before the percentage display catches up. It is not a faulty cell; it is an uncalibrated gauge. Run two full discharge-to-shutdown and full-recharge cycles, and the IC learns where the real low-voltage threshold sits. After calibration, shutdown should not occur above approximately 3.4V per cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Zenfone Max won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
Most likely the cell discharged below 2.5V in storage and the BMS entered lockout mode to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 30 to 45 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage rises above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 2.8V, at which point the phone will boot normally.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in the replacement battery — the phone just charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the Asus charge IC sometimes falls back to standard 5V charging because the BMS on the new cell hasn't completed its initial handshake with the system. This is not a permanent fault. Complete one full slow charge to 100%, then unplug and reboot the phone. On the next charge session, the USB negotiation runs against a fully initialised BMS and fast charge resumes at the correct current profile.
The battery percentage jumps around erratically — goes from 60% to 45% in seconds, then back up without charging.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve — the stored model no longer matches the actual cell chemistry, so voltage readings produce unstable percentage outputs. Force a full discharge by using the phone normally until it shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with the screen off. After one complete cycle the coulomb counter anchors its calculations to the real cell data and percentage readouts stabilise.
