Fits AT&T GoPhone 4G LTE, replacing the original 3.8V lithium-ion cell.
This 3.8V 1950mAh cell restores full capacity to the GoPhone 4G LTE smartphone.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with standard micro-contact alignment and locking tab.
We bench-tested this cell in the GoPhone 4G LTE; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with normal charge curve.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without fast charging to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AT&T GoPhone 4G LTE — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.8V, 1950mAh (7.41Wh) lithium-ion cell replaces the original battery in the AT&T GoPhone 4G LTE prepaid smartphone. It fits the standard battery bay and connects through the existing contacts without modification. Use this when the original cell no longer holds adequate charge and the device needs to stay in service.

  • GoPhone 4G LTE fit: The AT&T GoPhone 4G LTE uses a removable 3.8V single-cell pack with a fixed contact strip along the bottom edge. This cell matches that voltage rail and physical footprint — 69.42 × 47.94 × 4.75mm — so it seats correctly in the battery bay without stressing the cover or contacts.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the GoPhone 4G LTE platform. The BMS accepted the charge current without fault flags, and the protection circuit responded correctly to both low-voltage cutoff and over-current events during modem activity.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installing this cell, disable fast charging if your charger supports it and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This allows the fuel gauge IC to map the new cell's discharge curve before the OS reports accurate percentages.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the GoPhone 4G LTE after a cell swap

A new cell has a discharge curve the phone's fuel gauge IC has never seen before. When the modem transmits or the screen peaks in brightness, current draw spikes sharply. If the fuel gauge still maps those loads against the old cell's curve, it underestimates the voltage drop — and the phone shuts down before the reported percentage reaches zero. This is not a defective cell. Running one full discharge cycle down to automatic shutdown, then charging uninterrupted to 100%, gives the coulomb counter enough data to recalibrate. After that cycle, the shutdowns stop.

Phone not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Lithium-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If this cell arrived or was stored at a voltage below roughly 2.5V per cell, the BMS may have tripped into deep-discharge lockout to prevent damage. The phone will not respond to a normal power press. Connect the device to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for at least 20 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until the BMS exits lockout, typically above 3.0V, at which point normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my AT&T GoPhone 4G LTE show the wrong battery percentage after I put in the new cell?

The fuel gauge IC in the GoPhone 4G LTE was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. A new cell has a different internal resistance profile, so the IC's percentage estimates are off until it relearns. Run one full discharge — let the phone shut down on its own — then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle the reported percentage tracks the actual cell voltage correctly.

The phone feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is something wrong?

A new cell typically has slightly higher internal impedance than a well-used original, so the charge IC pushes voltage across a less settled resistance path — that generates a small amount of extra heat on the first few charge cycles. We measured surface temperature on the bench and it stayed within normal operating range. If the phone stays warm after three or four charge cycles, check that the back cover is seated fully and not trapping heat against the cell.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my GoPhone 4G LTE — it only charges slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes defaults to standard current while it handshakes with the new BMS. This is a protective behaviour, not a fault. Let the phone complete one full charge at the slower rate without interrupting it. On the next charge cycle the IC should re-negotiate the higher current. If fast charging still does not resume after two full cycles, check that the charger output is at least 5V/2A and the USB cable is not the limiting factor.
