Fits Auro M401 smartphones; replaces OEM part number M451.
3.7V, 1000mAh lithium-ion cell restores full power capacity to aging M401 units.
Connector seats flush into the M401 battery slot with standard latch retention.
We bench-tested the M451 cell on an M401 platform; BMS initialized without fault codes on first insertion.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Auro M401 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (M451)

This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Auro M401 smartphone. It fits the M401 directly and uses OEM part number M451. When the original cell degrades after repeated charge cycles, this battery restores the phone to full operation.

  • M401 platform fit: The M401 uses a single-cell 3.7V nominal rail with a connector and physical footprint matched to the M451 part number. The BMS handshake on this device authenticates the cell by voltage and thermistor signal — both are met by this replacement cell.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the cell through charge and discharge cycles on the M401 platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first insertion, charge termination triggered correctly at full voltage, and the protection circuit tripped as expected under short-circuit simulation.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, disable fast charging if available and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle before normal use. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated state-of-charge reading.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Auro M401 after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC on the M401 is still using the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. The new cell has a steeper voltage cliff under load — particularly when the modem or display draws current — so the phone hits the undervoltage cutoff while the percentage reading is still showing 20–30%. It is not a fault in the replacement cell. One full discharge-charge cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter and the shutdowns stop.

Phone reports incorrect battery percentage after replacement

The M401's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge model for the previous cell. After swapping to a new cell, that stored model is mismatched — the percentage shown is calculated against the wrong capacity baseline. The fix is a full calibration cycle: drain the phone to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without removing the cable. After one complete cycle the IC resets its reference points and percentage readings stabilise.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Auro M401 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

The cell has likely dropped below the BMS lockout threshold, which on Li-ion cells typically triggers below 2.5V per cell after extended storage. The BMS disconnects the cell to prevent damage and the phone shows no response. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. Once the charge IC trickle-charges the cell above the recovery threshold, the BMS re-initialises and the phone will power on.

Fast charging stopped working on my M401 right after I fitted the new battery — it only charges slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the M401's charge controller may not negotiate the fast-charge protocol until it has completed one handshake with the new cell's BMS. This is normal behaviour — the controller defaults to standard 5V charging as a precaution against pushing high current into an uncalibrated cell. Charge the phone fully once at the slow rate, disconnect, then reconnect with the fast charger. Most M401 units re-enable fast charging from the second cycle onward.

The M401 feels warm near the battery while charging with the new cell — is that normal?

A new Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled a few times. Higher impedance means the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat during the first few charge cycles. The warmth should be mild — uncomfortable to hold sustained contact for more than a few seconds is the threshold to watch. If the phone stays warm to the touch but not hot, it will settle down after three to five charge cycles as the cell's impedance drops. If it becomes hot or charging halts with an error, check that the battery connector is fully seated flat with no debris under the contact pads.
