Fits MyPhone 8920, 8920 Mark, 8920TV Mark Pro, and 9005 handsets; replaces OEM part MP-S-L.
3.7V, 1000mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 3.7Wh to power calls, messaging, and applications on this smartphone.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a positive terminal alignment — no locking tab, straight insertion only.
We bench-tested this cell on a stock 8920 charge cycle; the BMS accepted the new pack without fault codes and held voltage steady under modem load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MyPhone 8920 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (MP-S-L)

This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion cell that replaces part number MP-S-L in the MyPhone 8920, 8920 Mark, 8920TV Mark Pro, and 9005 handsets. It slots into the same battery bay and connects to the same charging IC as the original. Capacity is 1000mAh — match that to your original label before ordering.

  • 8920 series compatibility: The 8920, 8920 Mark, and 8920TV Mark Pro share the same 3.7V battery bay, connector pitch, and BMS handshake — that is why one cell covers all three. The 9005 uses the same form factor. Swap without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full discharge and charge sequence on the MyPhone 8920 platform. The BMS accepted charge on the first cycle, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold — no anomalies recorded.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC build an accurate discharge curve against the new cell before the charge IC starts pushing higher current into an uncalibrated cell.

Why the MyPhone 8920 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC on the 8920 stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-versus-capacity profile of the replacement. The result is a percentage readout that drifts — often reading higher than real charge, then jumping downward. One complete discharge to 3.0V followed by a full charge at standard rate resets the coulomb counter and lets the IC map the new cell correctly.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the modem or screen draws a current spike the cell cannot sustain at that state of charge — voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold and the phone shuts down before the gauge reads zero. It is most common in the first few cycles when the cell has not yet reached full capacity. Run two or three complete charge-discharge cycles to let the cell condition. If shutdowns persist past cycle three, check the battery contacts on the board for oxidation and clean with isopropyl alcohol before reseating.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MyPhone 8920 powers on but shuts off suddenly when I make a call or open the camera — the battery still shows 25%.

That is a voltage cliff — the modem or camera module pulls a current spike the new cell cannot sustain at that charge level, dropping voltage below the BMS cutoff. The gauge still reads 25% because the fuel gauge IC has not recalibrated to the new cell's discharge curve yet. Run two full discharge-charge cycles at standard rate without fast charging. After those cycles, the coulomb counter recalibrates and the shutdowns typically stop.

The phone won't turn on after the replacement battery sat in storage for a few weeks — it just shows a dead battery icon and freezes.

A cell that drops below roughly 2.5V during storage triggers BMS lockout — the protection circuit disconnects the cell to prevent damage, and the phone cannot boot normally. Plug into a wall charger (not a PC USB port) and leave it untouched for 30–45 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will slowly trickle current into the cell until it clears the BMS lockout threshold, after which the phone boots and charges normally.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery — the phone charges, but much slower than before.

The USB-PD or proprietary fast charge protocol sometimes does not handshake on the first charge cycle after a cell swap — the charge IC defaults to standard current until it completes one full cycle with the new BMS. Charge the phone fully once at the slower rate, then unplug and discharge normally to around 10%. On the next charge, fast charging should re-engage. If it does not, check that the charging cable and adapter are the same ones that triggered fast charge on the original battery.
