Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Auro Utano V2 — 3.7V Li-ion 1050mAh Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V, 1050mAh Li-ion cell for the Auro Utano V2 smartphone. It fits directly into the Utano V2 handset and restores power when the original cell has degraded past useful capacity. Dimensions are 53.16 × 33.77 × 5.34mm — confirm these against your original cell before installing.
- Utano V2 fitment: The Utano V2 uses a compact 3.7V single-cell configuration. This replacement matches that voltage rail and physical footprint, so the connector seats correctly and the BMS can communicate with the phone's charge IC without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS held charge termination cleanly and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold — no runaway draw observed.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC on the Utano V2 is calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve — a full cycle on the new cell lets it re-anchor its coulomb counter before high-current charging begins.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Utano V2 after a cell swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still reading the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell hits a voltage cliff — where terminal voltage drops sharply under modem or screen load — at a different state of charge than the original. The phone's protection circuit reads this as a critical low-voltage event and shuts down, even though the displayed percentage looks safe. One complete discharge-to-empty followed by a full uninterrupted charge resets the coulomb counter and eliminates most of these early shutdowns.
Phone feels warm near the battery during the first few charges
A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. When the charge IC pushes current into a high-impedance cell, more energy converts to heat at the cell surface. This is normal for the first two to three cycles and reduces as the cell's impedance settles. If warmth persists beyond the third full charge or the phone becomes hot to the touch, stop charging and check that the replacement cell dimensions match — 53.16 × 33.77 × 5.34mm — as an oversized cell trapped under the back cover can restrict airflow and hold heat.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Auro Utano V2 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
Probably not dead, but the BMS has locked out because the cell self-discharged below the 2.5V protection threshold during storage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without pressing the power button. Most BMS circuits trickle-charge the cell back above the lockout threshold automatically before allowing a normal charge cycle to resume. If the charging indicator still does not appear after 30 minutes, try a different cable and adapter to rule out a current-limited source.
The Utano V2 is showing erratic percentages — jumping from 60% to 30% and back — since I put in the new battery. What's causing that?
The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve, which differs from the original. Until it has a complete reference cycle, percentage readings can swing by 20 to 30 points as the IC tries to interpolate an unfamiliar voltage-to-capacity map. Run one full discharge — use the phone normally until it shuts itself off — then charge uninterrupted to 100% without unplugging early. After that single complete cycle, the fuel gauge IC will have a full discharge curve to work from and the percentage jumps should stop.
Fast charging stopped working on the Utano V2 after I swapped the battery — the phone only trickle charges now. How do I fix it?
On the first cycle after a cell replacement, the charge IC often defaults to a conservative constant-current mode because the BMS in the new cell hasn't yet passed the handshake required for the faster charge tier. This isn't a fault — it's a precaution built into the charge controller. Complete one full charge at the slow rate without interrupting it, then unplug and restart the phone. On the second charge cycle, the BMS handshake should complete correctly and fast charging should re-engage. If it still runs slow, confirm the adapter output matches the Utano V2's rated input — an underpowered adapter will prevent the fast-charge protocol from triggering regardless of the cell.
