Fits Mobistel EL600 and EL600 Dual smartphones; replaces OEM part BTY26172.
3.7V, 800mAh lithium-ion cell restores full charge capacity to aging phones.
Connector seats into the proprietary battery slot; locking tab secures flush against frame.
We bench-tested this cell on EL600 hardware; BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion without fault codes.
On first full charge cycle after installation, disable any fast-charge setting — the fuel gauge IC needs one complete discharge-charge curve to recalibrate against this cell's discharge profile before resuming high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mobistel EL600 / EL600 Dual — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTY26172)

This is a 3.7V, 800mAh Li-ion cell replacing the original BTY26172 battery in the Mobistel EL600 and EL600 Dual smartphones. The original cell degrades after repeated charge cycles and can no longer sustain voltage under modem or display load. This replacement restores normal operation in both single-SIM and Dual-SIM variants.

  • EL600 and EL600 Dual compatibility: Both variants share the same 3.7V battery rail, connector pinout, and physical footprint — 52.88 x 33.76 x 4.48mm. The BMS handshake requirements are identical across both models, so one cell covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and load on the EL600 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the protection circuit responded correctly to over-discharge and over-current thresholds.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: Disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle after installation. The fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell's discharge curve during this cycle — running fast charge into an uncalibrated cell pushes current at the wrong rate and skews percentage readings from the start.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the EL600 after a cell swap

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell hits a voltage cliff earlier than the IC expects — the phone reads 25% but the cell voltage has already dropped below the threshold the modem or display can sustain. The phone cuts out rather than holding on. One full discharge-to-shutdown, then a full charge cycle corrects the IC's reference curve. After that cycle, percentage reporting stabilises and early shutdowns stop.

EL600 not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the BTY26172 cell drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout to prevent further discharge damage. The phone will not respond to the power button and may show no charging indicator. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC needs to push a trickle current to bring the cell above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 3.0V, before normal charging and boot can resume.

Frequently Asked Questions

My EL600 shows 25% battery and then just shuts off with no warning — what's causing that?

That's a voltage cliff failure. The new cell cannot sustain voltage under the combined load of the modem radio and screen, so it drops below the shutdown threshold faster than the fuel gauge IC predicts. The IC is still referencing the old cell's discharge curve. Run one full discharge — let the phone die naturally — then charge it fully without interruption. After that single calibration cycle, the percentage readout tracks the actual cell voltage and the premature shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my EL600 is jumping around erratically after I fitted the new cell — 60% one minute, 45% the next. Is the battery faulty?

It is not faulty. The coulomb counter inside the fuel gauge IC lost its reference when the old cell was removed. It is now estimating state-of-charge against a curve it built for a different cell. Let the phone discharge fully to automatic shutdown, then charge it in one uninterrupted session to 100%. That single cycle gives the IC enough data points to rebuild an accurate discharge curve for the new cell, and the jumping stops.

The EL600 feels warm near the battery while charging the new cell — should I be concerned?

Mild warmth on the first few charge cycles is normal. A fresh cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates slightly more energy as heat while pushing current into it. If the phone becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, stop the charge and check that the charger output matches the EL600's spec. Normal warmth — not hot — drops off after three to five cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If heat persists beyond that, check the charger voltage output with a meter and confirm it matches 5V.
