Fits Swissvoice SV29 mobile phone, replaces OEM part SV29, SKU CS-WSV290SL.
3.7V lithium-ion cell at 1050mAh capacity delivers 3.89Wh to sustain modem and display loads on the SV29.
Connector is a two-pin contact pad on the battery case; slides straight into the phone battery slot with no locking tab.
Bench testing shows the BMS accepts charge current within 15 minutes of first insertion; fuel gauge IC requires one full discharge-charge cycle to map the new cell's voltage curve.
On first use after installation, complete one full charge and discharge cycle without USB-PD fast charging — this recalibrates the phone's coulomb counter against the new cell voltage curve before high-current charging begins.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Swissvoice SV29 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (20405928)

This 3.7V, 1050mAh lithium-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Swissvoice SV29 mobile phone. The SV29 is a compact rugged handset built for basic calling and messaging. Dimensions are 53.16 × 33.77 × 5.34 mm — verify these against your original cell before fitting.

  • SV29 platform fit: The SV29 runs a single-cell 3.7V rail. This replacement matches that rail voltage and the physical connector pinout. The BMS on the SV29 motherboard reads cell voltage directly — no proprietary handshake is required, so the swap does not trigger a compatibility lockout.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the SV29 platform. The onboard charge IC accepted the new cell without fault flags. BMS cutoff triggered correctly at the low-voltage threshold, and the cell held stable voltage through a full discharge cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable any fast-charge mode and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC build a new discharge curve against the replacement cell before it starts making capacity estimates — skipping this step causes the percentage readout to drift or jump early on.

Why the SV29 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The SV29 fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When you install a replacement, that stored curve no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage profile. The IC keeps reading against the old data, so the percentage shown on screen can be off by 15–25%. One full discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge, resets the coulomb counter and retrains the gauge against the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops below the SV29 modem's minimum operating voltage while the screen or radio spikes current draw. The fuel gauge may still show 25% remaining, but the cell cannot sustain the voltage under that instantaneous load — the phone cuts out to protect the hardware. It is most common in the first few cycles before the fuel gauge has recalibrated. Run two full discharge-charge cycles and check whether the cutoff point shifts; if the phone still shuts down above 15%, measure resting cell voltage — it should read above 3.6V at that charge level.

Frequently Asked Questions

The SV29 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

Most likely the cell dropped below 2.5V in storage and the BMS has locked out to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will release the lockout. If the charging indicator does not appear after 30 minutes, try a different cable and confirm the charger output is at least 5V 1A.

The battery percentage on my SV29 jumps around erratically — goes from 60% straight to 30% then back up again.

The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve and its estimates are unreliable until it completes at least one full cycle. Run the phone down until it shuts off automatically, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without disconnecting early. After that full cycle the coulomb counter has a real reference point and the percentage readout stabilises.

The SV29 feels warm near the battery compartment while charging — is the new cell faulty?

A new high-impedance cell generates more heat in the first few charge cycles than a broken-in cell does. The charge IC is pushing current into a cell with slightly higher internal resistance, which converts more energy to heat. This is normal for the first two or three cycles and typically settles down. If the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — or the heat continues past the third full charge, check that nothing is blocking airflow around the phone and confirm your charger output does not exceed 5V 2A.
