Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Autel MaxiBAS BT608 — 7.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TB2022)

This 7.7V, 2700mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the TB2022 cell inside the Autel MaxiBAS BT608 automotive diagnostic scanner. The BT608 is a professional battery and electrical system tester used in workshop environments for vehicle analysis and fault diagnosis. Swap this in when the original cell no longer holds enough charge to complete a full diagnostic session.

  • MaxiBAS BT608 fit: The TB2022 is the single Li-Polymer cell specific to the BT608 platform. Voltage rail, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol match the original — the scanner firmware handshakes with the battery management circuit during boot to confirm cell status before allowing operation.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a BT608 unit. The BMS held the charge curve within spec, the scanner booted cleanly, and the cell voltage at rest stabilised at 7.7V nominal without deviation between cycles.
  • Data export before swapping: Export all saved vehicle profiles and session logs before removing the original battery. The BT608 stores active vehicle data in RAM backed by the main cell — cutting power without exporting first wipes unsaved records permanently.

BT608 not powering on after battery installation

A freshly installed TB2022 cell may ship at a storage charge well below the BT608's boot threshold. The scanner firmware requires a minimum cell voltage before it will initialise — if the cell sits below that floor, the unit appears completely dead even though the battery is functional. Plug the BT608 into the charger for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on. If the scanner still does not boot, check the cell voltage at the charge port — it should read above 7.0V before the boot sequence will trigger.

Wireless connection dropping mid-diagnostic session

The BT608's Bluetooth radio draws a surge of current when maintaining an active link during heavy diagnostic polling. At low battery states, the cell voltage sags enough under that load to cause the wireless module to reset mid-session — the scanner stays on but the vehicle link drops. This is not a software fault. Keep the cell above 50% charge during sessions that involve continuous live data streaming. If drops persist after a fresh charge cycle, check that the cell resting voltage holds at or above 7.5V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BT608 shows a full charge but the screen keeps dimming and the vehicle connection cuts out — what's happening?

The display driver and Bluetooth radio on the BT608 are both sensitive to voltage sag, and they react before the battery indicator catches up with the real cell state. A degraded or deeply discharged TB2022 cell can show "full" on the gauge while already sagging under load. Replace the cell and after installation, charge fully before running any live data session. Confirm the resting voltage reads at or above 7.5V before connecting to a vehicle.

I lost all my saved vehicle profiles after swapping the battery — can I get them back?

No — once the main cell is removed, RAM-backed vehicle profiles and unsaved session logs are gone. The BT608 does not write those records to non-volatile storage automatically. Before any future battery swap, open the BT608's data manager, export all vehicle profiles to the paired tablet or PC, and confirm the files transferred before pulling the cell.

The BT608 powers on fine but drains much faster than it used to — is the new battery faulty or is something else wrong?

Accelerated drain on a new TB2022 cell usually points to a shallow-cycling pattern on the old cell that conditioned the scanner's charge management behaviour. Run two full charge-to-discharge cycles on the new cell to let the BMS recalibrate its state-of-charge tracking. If drain remains abnormal after two full cycles, check whether background update processes or persistent Bluetooth scanning are running — both draw continuous current even when the scanner is idle. After recalibration, resting voltage should hold at 7.7V and drop gradually under normal use.
