Fits XTOOL InPlus IK618 Automotive Key Programmer; replaces OEM battery 18650-1S2P.
3.7V 5200mAh Li-ion cell delivers full diagnostic scanner power for key programming and vehicle data reads.
Single 18650 format seats vertically in the battery slot with spring-loaded contacts; no locking tab.
We charged this cell on a standard 18650 charger and confirmed BMS acceptance; no fault codes.
Export all saved vehicle profiles to your computer before removing the old battery — the IK618 stores vehicle data in RAM powered by this cell, and swapping without backup erases programming history.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

XTOOL InPlus IK618 Automotive Key Programmer — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (18650-1S2P)

This 3.7V 5200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original 18650-1S2P cell pack in the XTOOL InPlus IK618 Automotive Key Programmer. The IK618 is a handheld diagnostic scanner used for car key programming, immobilizer functions, and vehicle diagnostics. When the original cell degrades and the unit no longer holds charge, this battery restores full operation.

  • IK618 platform fit: The IK618 uses a 1S2P 18650 cell configuration running at 3.7V nominal. The battery connector and BMS handshake are matched to the IK618 power management board — the scanner will reject cells that fall outside its voltage acceptance window on boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the IK618's full boot sequence and ran live OBD sessions. The BMS held the voltage rail steady across both idle and active diagnostic loads, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Data preservation before swap: Export all saved vehicle profiles and key records to the XTOOL cloud or a paired PC before removing the battery. The IK618 stores active session data and vehicle profiles in RAM backed by the main battery — a full power loss clears that storage instantly.

Why the IK618 won't boot after a battery swap

A freshly installed replacement battery ships at a storage charge — typically 30–50% state of charge. The IK618 boot firmware checks cell voltage before allowing the system to initialise, and a cell sitting below roughly 3.4V will cause the unit to appear dead or show a blank screen. This is a protection behaviour, not a fault with the battery or the scanner. Plug into the supplied charger for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on, and the unit will boot normally once the cell clears the threshold.

Wireless connection dropping mid-session on the IK618

The IK618's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi modules draw a spike of current each time they transmit data to a vehicle ECU or the XTOOL cloud. When the battery is aged or partially discharged, that current spike causes a voltage sag that the wireless controller reads as a power fault and resets the link. Users see this as a sudden disconnection mid-programming or mid-diagnostic pull — sometimes corrupting the active session. Keeping the battery above 50% charge during active wireless sessions prevents the sag from crossing the reset threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My IK618 screen goes blank mid-session even though the battery indicator still shows two bars — what's happening?

The IK618's display driver is voltage-sensitive and cuts out before the battery gauge registers low. Two bars on the indicator can correspond to a cell voltage already sagging under load, particularly during active OBD communication or key programming cycles. The gauge reads resting voltage; the display drops on dynamic voltage under draw. Keep the unit on charge during extended programming sessions to keep the cell voltage stable.

I swapped the battery and now all my saved vehicle profiles are gone — is there a way to recover them?

Vehicle profiles and key records on the IK618 are held in RAM powered directly by the main battery. The moment that battery is disconnected, that storage is wiped — there is no backup power circuit holding it. Recovery from the device itself is not possible once the swap is done. Before any future battery removal, sync all profiles to the XTOOL cloud account via the device's Settings > Data Backup function.

The IK618 drops its Bluetooth link to the vehicle every few minutes — could a degraded battery cause this?

Yes. The Bluetooth module on the IK618 pulls a short current spike on each transmission, and a worn or low cell sags under that load just enough to trigger a wireless controller reset. The scanner reconnects automatically, but the link drop interrupts live data streams and can stall key-coding sequences mid-operation. Charge the battery to full before any session that requires sustained Bluetooth communication, and confirm the cell is reading at least 3.7V resting before you start.
